The Timberwolves have waived Eric Paschall.
Paschall was on a two-way deal with the club, but now he’ll need to search for another contract. Regardless of where he winds up, we wouldn’t anticipate him having any fantasy value.

  • NBA Power Forward #9
Eric Paschall (left ankle, Achilles tendinosis) will miss the Wolves’ season opener against Oklahoma City.
The 2019 second-round pick is on a two-way deal with a deep Minnesota team, so fantasy managers don’t need to look in his direction even once he’s healthy.

  • NBA Power Forward #9
Eric Paschall agreed to a two-way deal with the Timberwolves on Friday, per ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
When reports came out about Paschall potentially heading to Greece, he shut those down pretty quickly. Instead, he’ll follow Rudy Gobert to Minnesota after playing with him in Utah last season. Paschall will be a depth team on one of the best Minnesota teams ever. He probably won’t see enough of a role to be valuable in fantasy hoops.

  • NBA Power Forward #9
Panathinaikos BC are trying to make a big move on the market and they want to add Eric Paschall in their roster, per George Zakkas.
Paschall spent last season as a backup for Utah. He had a few solid performances but was relatively unimportant in fantasy hoops. If he stays in the NBA, he probably won’t find a large role to make him valuable, unless he joins a tanking team. If he heads over to Greece, you can disregard him, obviously.

  • NBA Power Forward #9
The Jazz will not extend Eric Paschall a qualifying offer, making him an unrestricted free agent.
The Jazz will be looking to shake things up this offseason with a new head coach, so it’s no surprise to see them opt for more flexibility. Paschall is coming off a quiet season in Utah, averaging just under 13 minutes per game.

  • BKN Small Forward #44
Bojan Bogdanovic (left calf strain) is being listed as questionable for Thursday’s game against the lowly Lakers.
He hasn’t played in any of Utah’s prior nine games and is taking his time rehabbing the injury, but his team could really use another offensive weapon as they’re currently in the midst of a five-game losing streak. It’s been either Juancho Hernangomez or Eric Paschall starting for Bojan, but both have been very quiet with the exception of a dash of boards and triples from Juancho.

  • NBA Center #55
Greg Monroe accounted for four points (1-of-2 FGs, 2-of-2 FTs), two rebounds, one assist, and one block in 10 minutes during Tuesday’s loss to the Clippers.
With Hassan Whiteside (foot) ruled out, Monroe was immediately thrust into the backup center role Tuesday night. While he did some good things offensively, there was a clear dropoff on the defensive end of the floor. Monroe’s presence moved Rudy Gobert (11 points, three rebounds, one steal, and one 3-pointer in 16 minutes) and Eric Paschall (two points, one rebound in six minutes) away from the center position, but there wasn’t much of an impact from a fantasy standpoint. So long as Rudy Gobert is healthy, Monroe isn’t worth streaming. And the same can be said for Gay and Paschall.

  • FA Power Forward #33
Rudy Gay made the most of some extended run in Sunday’s blowout loss to the Mavs and finished with 18 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two triples over 23 minutes.
Not only did Gay get some added run due to garbage time, but he was also a more active part of the rotation with both Rudy Gobert (leg) and Hassan Whiteside (foot) watching from the sidelines. Eric Paschall got the spot-start with those two out and finished with 10 points, one rebound, one assist, two triples and one steal over 26 minutes. Gobert was a late-scratch tonight, and this game did not come as a back-to-back set, so it’s unclear if he’ll need to miss any additional games. However, if both Gobert and Whiteside again find themselves on the sidelines for Tuesday’s game vs. the Clippers, Gay and Paschall would be guys to think about as potential streamers.

  • NBA Power Forward #9
Mike Conley, Donovan Mitchell, Royce O’Neale, Juancho Hernangomez, and Eric Paschall will start Sunday’s game against the Mavericks.
With Rudy Gobert and Hassan Whiteside both ruled out due to injury, Paschall will serve as the starting “center” Sunday night. Both he and Rudy Gay are worth streaming due to how shorthanded the Jazz are in the frontcourt.

  • MIN Center #27
Rudy Gobert (lower right leg contusion) has been ruled out for Sunday’s game against the Mavericks.
The Jazz will be without both of their centers for this one, as Hassan Whiteside has also been ruled out due to injury. Rudy Gay and Eric Paschall, neither of whom are centers, stand to see a significant amount of time in the Jazz rotation. Paschall can offer a bit more in the way of rebounding and defensive stats, but neither choice is a great one.
