Jokisch was released after it was determined he would miss six weeks with a partial tear in his left abductor muscle. The 33-year-old has been with the Kiwoom Heroes since 2019 -- posting a 2.85 ERA in 130 appearances -- and hasn’t appeared in the majors since 2014 with the Cubs.

After considering offers to return stateside, left-hander Eric Jokisch has re-signed with the Kiwoom Heroes in the Korea Baseball Organization.
It’ll be the fifth season with the Heroes for the 33-year-old hurler. He has been outstanding while there, registering a 2.72 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 536/143 K/BB ratio across 701 2/3 innings while averaging 29 starts per season. He’ll return to those familiar surroundings and a guaranteed deal rather than attempting to fight for a roster spot stateside.

The 33-year-old southpaw reportedly has already received interest from the Mariners, Angels and Marlins. Jokisch has spent the last four seasons with the Kiwoom Heores in the Korea Baseball Organization where he has posted a stellar 2.72 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and 536/143 K/BB ratio across 701 2/3 innings while averaging 29 starts per season. Given the overall lack of starting pitching depth around the league, it shouldn’t be hard for Jokisch to find an opportunity if he’s interested.
