It goes without saying that Samia did not travel to Chicago for Monday Night Football. The Vikings also activated TE Brandon Dillon from the practice squad in a corresponding move. Samia has started four games at right guard this year but has not played any offensive snaps the past two weeks.

Samia (6’5/305) made 48 starts on the Sooners’ offensive line, manning right tackle as a freshman and sophomore, right guard as a junior and senior, and sharing Big 12 Offensive Lineman of the Year with two others last season. Samia allowed zero sacks and just 11 QB hurries on 879 snaps in 2018. Only a 17th-percentile SPARQ athlete with a brute run-blocking game but sloppy technique, Samia best projects as a swing reserve capable of chipping in at guard or tackle in a pinch but lacking quality-starter upside. Fortunately for him, Samia lands in the perfect destination to at least compete in a reserve role among Minnesota’s subpar depth.
