Jackson has been cut loose following 10 games for Triple-A Sacramento after signing with the Giants earlier this month on a minor league contract. Giants signed INF Drew Jackson to a minor league contract.
Jackson was released by the Athletics last week and has quickly latched on with the Giants. The 29-year-old infielder got into three games earlier this season for Oakland and was hitting .243/.353/.297 with one homer and eight steals at Triple-A Las Vegas. He’ll bolster the injury-ravaged Giants’ middle infield depth moving forward.

    Athletics released OF Drew Jackson.
The 29-year-old spent the bulk of the season at Triple-A Las Vegas where he slashed .243/.353/.297 with one homer, 14 RBI and a 56/23 K/BB ratio over 173 plate appearances. It’s unclear if he’ll look to land another minor league gig or if he may look for opportunities elsewhere.

Athletics activated INF/OF Drew Jackson from the COVID-19 injured list; optioned him to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Jackson is healthy now, but the A’s don’t have a spot for him on their 26-man major league roster. The 28-year-old went 0-for-3 with a strikeout during the short time that he was active for Oakland.

Athletics placed INF/OF Drew Jackson on the COVID-19 injured list.
Jackson becomes the latest Athletics’ player to land on the COVID-19 injured list. It’s unclear whether he’s tested positive. He’ll likely be sidelined for the next few days until he clears the league’s health and safety protocols.

Athletics purchased the contract of INF/OF Drew Jackson from Triple-A Las Vegas.
Jackson, 28, last appeared in the majors in 2019. It will likely be a short stay for him.

  • MLB First Baseman #8
Athletics reassigned 1B Eric Thames, C Christian Bethancourt and INFs Drew Jackson, Dalton Kelly and Christian Lopes to Triple-A Las Vegas.
Thames struggled at the dish in 11 Cactus League contests and won’t open the 2022 campaign as the Athletics’ primary first baseman. Neither will Dalton Kelly, who was also included among the latest cuts. There aren’t any other real surprises here as Oakland prepares to finalize its Opening Day roster.

Athletics signed INF/OF Drew Jackson to a minor-league contract.
Jackson appeared in three games with the Orioles back in 2019, and spent all of last season at Triple-A Syracuse in the Mets’ minor-league system, hitting .251/.397/.424 with nine homers and 24 stolen bases across 309 plate appearances. The versatile 28-year-old utility man will likely open the 2022 campaign at Triple-A Las Vegas.

Orioles returned INF/OF Drew Jackson to the Dodgers after he cleared waivers.
The Orioles designated Jackson for assignment, but because he was a Rule 5 draft pick, he had to be offered back to the Dodgers -- his former organization -- and the Dodgers have taken him back. He’ll likely report to Triple-A Oklahoma City.

Andersen Pickard of MLB Daily Dish reports that the Orioles have signed Dan Straily to a major league contract.
Craig Mish of Sirius XM says Straily will receive $575,000 and will get $250,000 if he’s traded. Straily is a sensible signing for an Orioles’ squad that is paper-thin in the rotation. He should at the very least give them some innings, although given his flyball tendencies he’s a poor fit for Camden Yards. Pickard says that Rule 5 pick Drew Jackson is being designated for assignment to clear a spot on the 40-man roster.
