Former NFL WR Dorial Green-Beckham was formally charged with resisting arrest and possessing 10 grams or less of marijuana on Thursday.
The charges stem from a December arrest in Springfield, Missouri. Police allege Green-Beckham fled the scene during a drug raid, escaping out the window before officers tased and apprehended him. Both charges are misdemeanors. The former Titans and Eagles wide receiver was just released from jail after serving a 90-day sentence for DWI, which violated his probation. The 2015 second-rounder hasn’t played an NFL down in almost three years.

Ex-Titans and Eagles WR Dorial Green-Beckham was arrested with a “pound of marijuana” in Springfield, Mo. early Thursday morning.
It’s unclear what, if anything, Green-Beckham will be charged with. He was apparently at a home during a drug raid and fled. DGB was caught with the pound of marijuana, while a further seven were found at the residence. Still only 25, the former mega high school recruit and second-round pick appears done with the NFL.

Titans coach Mike Mularkey said Dorial Green-Beckham has to “earn” a starting job.
“How effective is he out here, first? And then we get into these preseason games, see how much we can load him up,” Mularkey said. “We also know we’ve got some other options too that will be competing with him. So it’s not a for sure he’s lining up at ‘X’ for us on opening Sunday.” This is classic coach speak. DGB easily has the most upside in the receiver corps, and he will be one of the starters Week 1. That said, he still needs to prove he can turn his elite flashes into consistent production.

Titans coach Mike Mularkey wants Dorial Green-Beckham to put in extra work “when nobody is watching.”
“It’s just putting the work in without being directed by anybody. Doing it yourself,” Mularkey said. “I mean he does do it. I would do it more.” Despite showing his commitment by coming to camp in great shape, DGB has still been plagued by inconsistent play and is clearly behind Rishard Matthews and rookie Tajae Sharpe on the depth chart. Unless something dramatic changes in the coming weeks, that will likely be where he begins the season. Green-Beckham’s ADP has fallen two full rounds since June, but he might still be overvalued.

Eagles acquired WR Dorial Green-Beckham from the Titans in exchange for G/T Dennis Kelly.
Green-Beckham had clearly fallen out of favor with the Titans’ coaching staff, but it is still stunning they decided to trade a 2015 second-round pick for an at best swing lineman. Despite his struggles, Green-Beckham probably has the most natural talent of any receiver on the Eagles’ roster and should push for a role behind Jordan Matthews. That said, he struggled to earn snaps in a similarly lackluster receiver corps in Tennessee. While this trade certainly breathes life in DGB’s fantasy outlook, he is still nothing more than a flier at this point. Fellow disappointment Nelson Agholor could be on his way out of the starting lineup.

Eagles coach Doug Pederson said Dorial Green-Beckham will not play in the second preseason game.
Acquired from the Titans on Tuesday, Green-Beckham will not even get a chance to practice with the team before Thursday night’s game. DGB was slow to catch on with the Titans as a rookie, and it is likely he will take some time to acclimate himself in Philadelphia. Still, he has the talent to push for the No. 2 receiver spot early in the season.

Dorial Green-Beckham (hamstring) is practicing in full at OTAs.
DGB missed some time at voluntary workouts, and our last blurb had him being sidelined. We’re using this as a way to relay he’s 100 percent healthy. Speaking after Tuesday’s first OTA, Mariota said of Green-Beckham, “The dude is a stud. ... (We have to) find ways to get him the football and let him do his thing.”

Dorial Green-Beckham said he’s been “getting in my playbook a lot and studying” since Titans minicamp.
“So during camp I’ll be one of those guys that’s out there flying around making plays and just having fun and staying in that rhythm the whole year,” he continued. DGB is saying all the right things, but maybe he’s taken getting bumped from the first-team offense at minicamp to heart. Coach Mike Mularkey called the sophomore out for minor mental errors in the spring. DGB has all the physical tools in the world, but needs to put it all together consistently this summer.

Coach Mike Mularkey says he has seen too much “inconsistency” from Dorial Green-Beckham early in Titans camp.
Mularkey mentioned Green-Beckham and Justin Hunter both as “inconsistent” performers. Being grouped in with Hunter can’t be a great sign. Green-Beckham should at least get a ton of run this preseason because he’s been practicing with the second- and third-team offenses. DGB remains squarely behind Rishard Matthews, Kendall Wright, Tajae Sharpe, and probably Andre Johnson.

New Eagles WR Dorial Green-Beckham caught 0-of-2 targets in Thursday’s preseason game.
Green-Beckham entered in the second quarter and was immediately targeted on a red zone jump ball. It was a shaky pass from Chase Daniel. DGB also got some run after the break. Even in one of the league’s thinnest receiver corps, DGB is buried down the depth chart for the time being, but unlike in Tennessee, we’d guess the Eagles will contrive to move him up in relatively short order.
