    Jets waived CB Dexter McDougle.
Ronald Martin, Khiry Robinson and Dominique Williams also got the axe on Sunday. McDougle has missed most of the preseason with a hamstring injury and the Jets decided they couldn’t wait for him any longer. When healthy, McDougle was the Jets’ fourth-string corner. McDougle has been a disappointment since entering the league as a third-round pick in 2014 but it shouldn’t take him too long to resurface.

Eagles acquired CB Dexter McDougle from the Jets in exchange for S Terrence Brooks.
McDougle played all of six defensive snaps last season while working mostly on special teams. He gives the Eagles some depth behind starters Ronald Darby and Jalen Mills.

Eagles signed CB Dexter McDougle to a one-year extension.
The Eagles must have liked what they’ve seen from McDougle after trading for him last week. He’ll open the season in a special teams role and provide depth at corner. McDougle is now signed through 2018.

Jets second-year CB Dexter McDougle (ACL) has been a full participant in OTAs.
McDougle missed his entire rookie season after blowing out his left knee in a training camp practice. He was the No. 80 overall pick of last year’s draft. Per reporter Rich Cimini, McDougle has been getting work in the slot behind Buster Skrine this spring. Reserve nickel duties is McDougle’s ceiling for Week 1.
  • FA Defensive Back #34
Jets signed No. 80 overall CB Dexter McDougle to a four-year contract.
A quick-twitch mover with a physical playing style but short arms (30 5/8") and sub-optimal height (5-foot-10), McDougle’s size limitations may relegate him to the slot for Gang Green. He does offer upside to develop into a quality nickel back or starter. McDougle will likely focus on special teams as a rookie, but his sheer athletic tools give him a chance for more sooner rather than later.

Jets placed CB Dexter McDougle (torn left ACL) on injured reserve, ending his season.
He was the 80th overall pick in May’s draft. The good news is McDougle suffered the year-ending injury in training camp, and should be ready for Week 1 next season. The bad news is his loss is a huge blow to New York’s secondary depth. McDougle will now enter his sophomore campaign with a litany of injury red flags after battling shoulder problems at Maryland.
  • FA Defensive Back #34
Jets selected Maryland CB Dexter McDougle with the No. 80 overall pick in the 2014 NFL draft.
McDougle (5-foot-9 3/4, 196) lasted only three games as a senior before a year-ending shoulder injury, which should be healed by camp. He finished college with 27 starts and six interceptions. McDougle ran 4.47 at the Terrapins’ Pro Day, adding a 37-inch vertical and 10-foot-2 broad jump. A quick-twitch mover with a physical playing style but short arms (30 5/8") and sub-optimal height, McDougle’s size limitations may relegate him to mostly slot corner in the pros. He does offer upside to develop into a quality nickel back or starter. McDougle will likely focus on special teams with Gang Green as a rookie, but his sheer athletic tools give him a chance for more sooner rather than later.

    Lions signed CB Dexter McDougle.
McDougle joined the Jaguars on a reserve/future deal back in January but was cut only a few weeks into training camp. Including the Lions, McDougle has now been with five organizations since entering the league as a third-round pick in 2014.

Jaguars signed CB Dexter McDougle and RB Tim Cook to reserve/future contracts.
McDougle began the year in Philadelphia but was let go when Ronald Darby returned from his ankle injury. He gives the Jags some insurance at slot corner should Aaron Colvin leave in free agency.
