Derrick Williams has agreed to a deal with the Spanish team Valencia.
Williams is coming off a stint in Turkey with Fenerbahce, prior to which he was playing in Germany. He’s 29 years old and all signs point to him finishing his playing career overseas.

Derrick Williams agrees to one-year deal with Turkish club Fenerbahçe.
Williams, the former No. 2 pick in the 2011 Draft, didn’t play in the NBA last season. He joins Fenerbahçe after one year in Germany with Bayern Munich.

Derrick Williams has reportedly agreed to terms with Bayern Munich for the 2018-19 season.
Williams, the No. 2 overall pick in the 2011 draft, spent most of last season in China before signing a 10-day contract with the Lakers in March. He appeared in just two games for Los Angeles.

Derrick Williams said that he will attempt to sign with a team overseas if the NBA lockout doesn’t end “within the next week or so.”
Williams, the second overall draft pick by the Timberwolves, is likely looking to play competitive basketball. He previously expressed no regrets about turning pro, and said (referencing his potential overseas move) “I think that’s the Plan B, especially at this point.”

Derrick Williams played 19 minutes with Kevin Love (ribs, flu) back in the fold on Thursday, hitting 2-of-10 shots for six points with three rebounds, three steals, and one block.
The defensive stats are interesting, but there’s no real value for Williams playing a limited role off the bench. Hopefully the Wolves can move Michael Beasley and create some extra space for him after the trade deadline.

Derrick Williams started for Kevin Love (flu) and hit 4-of-8 shots for 10 points, seven rebounds and two 3-pointers in Wednesday’s loss to the Lakers.
Michael Beasley came off the bench for 14 points and six boards on 6-of-13 shooting, and this was a far cry from what the duo did on Tuesday, when they both scored 27 points. Love should be back on Thursday at Phoenix, and we expect both Williams and Beasley to struggle with consistency once he’s back.

Derrick Williams hit just 2-of-9 shots for six points on Monday, but did grab 11 rebounds to go with a steal and three blocks in 37 minutes off the bench.
Williams has proven that he can be inconsistent, but with Michael Beasley struggling with a toe injury and Nikola Pekovic gimping around on an ankle injury -- he’s worth a bit more consideration because the minutes are more likely to be there. Give him a look in 12-team formats.

Derrick Williams disappeared in Wednesday’s win, hitting just 2-of-11 shots for five points and two rebounds.
Like many rookies, owners are going to have to take the good with the bad, but the minutes should stay solid for Williams (he played 23 tonight), and based on the size of your league, is still worth hanging onto despite tonight’s poor showing. Williams wasn’t the only one standing around watching Kevin Love and Luke Ridnour’s clinic, as Wayne Ellington failed to score after putting up between 12 and 17 points in his previous four games.
  • GSW Center #15
Anthony Randolph will start in Thursday’s game against the Pistons.
This isn’t a guarantee that Randolph will be productive, but it sits a bit better with the anxious owner that may decide to take the plunge. Randolph, Michael Beasley, Anthony Tolliver, and Derrick Williams have all been toss-ups since Kevin Love went down.
  • NBA Power Forward #6
Derrick Williams scored 11 points on 3-of-6 shooting (5-of-6 from the foul line) with four rebounds in 16 minutes off the bench on Thursday.
Williams is more trouble than he’s worth in fantasy leagues right now, and while he could go off at any given time while Kevin Love is out, good luck guessing when. Love is also trying to return for the Wolves’ next game on Sunday, so there’s a lot not to like here.
