  • NBA Small Forward #15
The Celtics waived Denzel Valentine on Friday to make room to sign Blake Griffin.
Valentine will be able to try and find a new team to play for, but the odds of him finding a situation that can give him a role are incredibly small. He won’t be on anyone’s fantasy hoops roster.

  • Small Forward #44
According to CLNS Media’s Bobby Manning, Justin Jackson is expected to be signed to an Exhibit 10 contract by the Celtics.
The Celtics are reportedly closer to filling out their roster for training camp, with Jackson, Jake Layman, and Denzel Valentine all in the fold. Jackson, a first-round pick in 2017, failed to establish himself as an NBA player, but this could be the opportunity he needs to restart his career. The Celtics lost Danilo Gallinari to a torn ACL this summer, which he suffered while representing his native Italy. With only 12 players on guaranteed contracts, there’s room for Jackson, Layman, or Jackson to earn a roster spot.

  • NBA Small Forward #15
The Celtics have reportedly signed free agent Denzel Valentine to a training camp deal.
The Exhibit 10 deal allows the five-year NBA veteran to fight for a roster spot. The Celtics have 12 guys under contract, so there’s a chance that Valentine will fill one of their final spots as wing depth. No matter where he lands, it’s hard to envision him helping fantasy managers in 2022-23.

  • NBA Small Forward #15
The Jazz plan to sign Denzel Valentine to a 10-day contract, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski.
With James Ennis deemed to have been in close contact with someone who tested positive for COVID-19, the Jazz had to look in another direction for roster reinforcements. Enter Valentine, who began the season with the Cavaliers before being included in the three-team trade headlined by Rajon Rondo. Waived by the Knicks, Valentine is now a free agent. Provided he passes his COVID tests, Valentine will be with the Jazz for Monday’s game against the Pistons in Detroit.

  • NBA Small Forward #15
The Knicks have waived Denzel Valentine.
Once Valentine clears waivers, he’ll be able to sign with a team of his choosing, but he’s never been an impact player in fantasy hoops.

  • NBA Small Forward #15
The Lakers are trading Denzel Valentine to the Knicks, in what is now a three-team deal that sends Rajon Rondo to the Cavaliers.
There were rumors that Valentine would be waived, but it looks like the Lakers have found him a home after all. Valentine hasn’t made an impact in fantasy at all this season, and that is not expected to change with the Knicks.

  • NBA Small Forward #15
Denzel Valentine has been traded to the Lakers in exchange for Rondo and is expected to be waived, per Adrian Wojnarowski.
Valentine hasn’t produced much this season for fantasy teams, but with the way 10-day deals are being handed out, he should at least get one of those quickly. Where he lands could impact his fantasy value.

  • NBA Point Guard
Kevin Pangos, Isaac Okoro, Lauri Markkanen, Evan Mobley, and Kevin Love will start Thursday’s game against the Wizards.
Pangos, who enjoyed a successful career in Europe after starring at Gonzaga, will make his first NBA start Thursday night. He’s been thrust into the role due to injuries, as Darius Garland (health and safety protocols) and Ricky Rubio (torn ACL) are both out. Pangos is worth streaming until Garland is cleared to play, and Denzel Valentine is also worthy of a look.

  • NBA Small Forward #15
Cavaliers guard Denzel Valentine (health and safety protocols) will be available for Wednesday’s game against Boston.
Valentine has cleared quarantine, and will be available to suit up against the Celtics on Wednesday. When the Cavaliers are at full strength, Valentine is merely a security option at the end of the bench for Cleveland, but with seven players currently in the league’s health and safety protocols, he could get some extended run. He isn’t expected to stuff the stat sheet though, so leave him on the wire.

  • CLE Shooting Guard #35
Isaac Okoro has entered the league’s health and safety protocols.
Already down one guard in Collin Sexton (meniscus, out for the season), the Cavaliers will be without Okoro for the foreseeable future. And the timing could not be worse for the second-year guard or his team. Okoro has been playing his best basketball of the season over the last few weeks, providing 11th-round value in 9-cat formats. An extended absence would likely mean more playing time for Cedi Osman and Denzel Valentine, with the former being a much better fantasy option.
