Rookie WR Demetrius Williams’ excellent play in the Ravens’ preseason opener has reportedly cooled their interest in Ashley Lelie.
Williams missed a ton of practice time early in camp with an injured hamstring but seemed to get open on nearly every pass play he was a part of during his first contest. He finished with four catches for 43 yards.
  • FA Wide Receiver #83
Jaguars signed WR Demetrius Williams and C/G Josh Beekman.
They’re camp bodies signed for practice purposes to bring Jacksonville to the 90-man roster limit. Williams and Beekman replace Lee Evans and Taylor Price.
  • FA Wide Receiver
There is a chance that Mark Clayton and Demetrius Williams will be cut before Week 1, according to the Baltimore Sun.
The writing was on the wall when the Ravens signed Donte’ Stallworth and traded for Anquan Boldin. Pushed down to No. 4/5 on the depth chart, they are making too much money to be simple insurance. On top of that, they don’t play special teams. At the very least, one of them will be shown the door.
  • FA Wide Receiver #83
The star of the Ravens’ first offseason workout was Demetrius Williams, according to the Baltimore Sun.
We wouldn’t read too much into this. The oft-injured Williams often stars on the practice field without pads on, but it almost never translates to real-life production. He’s on the roster bubble and could probably use a change of scenery anyway.
  • FA Wide Receiver
Mark Clayton did not start Monday night’s matchup with the Bengals.
Demetrius Williams and Derrick Mason started, and Clayton was only targeted twice. He was on the field quite a bit, but this is a concern now. Clayton’s ankle may still be bothering him or Williams just is a bigger part of the offense. Clayton won’t be a good option in Week 2 until we know more.
  • FA Wide Receiver #83
Demetrius Williams caught three passes for 55 yards in a Week 1 loss.
Williams was targeted as often as any Ravens receiver, which is a good sign, but his catch percentage was low. He won’t fulfill his potential until the Ravens get a quarterback who poses some semblance of a downfield threat.
  • FA Wide Receiver #83
Ravens WR Demetrius Williams caught three passes in today’s scrimmage and was targeted in the end zone twice.
Edward Lee, of the Baltimore Sun, seems to think Williams is poised to “blow up” this year. Williams has been impressing coaches this offseason and could eventually take Derrick Mason’s starting gig. He’s worth watching and makes a solid flier in deep leagues.
  • BAL Wide Receiver
Derrick Mason (knee) missed all of Ravens practice for the second consecutive day Friday, and is listed as questionable for Week 5.
Mason was previously dealing with a back problem and his now has a balky knee. The veteran was off to a hot start to the year and has a good matchup against San Francisco Sunday afternoon, but it’s time to look into picking someone up if you were relying on him. Demetrius Williams is his backup.
  • FA Wide Receiver #83
Demetrius Williams suffered a bruised arm Sunday, but he said that he intends to practice this week.
Williams had one catch for 13 yards in Week 2. When healthy, he remains a high-risk, but potential fantasy sleeper this season.
  • FA Wide Receiver #83
Demetrius Williams is likely to resume being the Ravens’ third receiver this week.
He’ll remain a big part of the passing game, but takes a hit in value now that he’ll be coming off the bench. Williams only had one catch in Week 2.
