Jon Heyman of the New York Post reports that David Price does not plan to pitch during the 2023 season.
Price is a free agent and eligible to sign wherever he chooses, but it sounds like he’s content to stay at home and recharge for a season. He isn’t officially using the word retirement, but it’s possible that this could be a precursor to that. The 37-year-old southpaw made 40 appearances out of the Dodgers bullpen in 2022 -- posting a terrific 2.45 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 37/9 K/BB ratio across 40 1/3 innings.

Price gets caught up in the Dodgers’ postseason roster crunch after being limited to just 40 relief appearances during the regular season and missed nearly a month in the second half due to left wrist inflammation.

Making his first appearance back from the IL, David Price pitched a scoreless ninth against the Padres on Friday for his third career save.
Working with a three-run lead, Price walked one, but he retired the other three batters he faced as the Dodgers’ seventh pitcher of the game. He’s competing for a spot on the team’s postseason roster at this point.

Dodgers activated LHP David Price from the 15-day injured list.
There have been speculative reports that Price plans on retiring at the conclusion of the year, but those haven’t been confirmed by the veteran southpaw himself. The 37-year-old lefty will rejoin the Dodgers’ bullpen mix on Tuesday evening in San Diego following a nearly one-month absence due to left wrist inflammation. He’s compiled a strong 2.58 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 37/8 K/BB ratio across 38 1/3 innings (38 appearances) this season for Los Angeles.

Bob Nightengale of USA Today reports David Price is planning on retiring at the conclusion of the season.
Price is making his way back from left wrist inflammation and should return sometime during the team’s coming homestead. The 37-year-old left-hander should be active for one more playoff run after announcing he will retire after the season. Price has enjoyed a successful career with five All-Star appearances, a Cy Young Award, and World Series championship.

David Price (wrist) threw a successful bullpen session on Saturday.
This was Price’s second consecutive successful session since landing on the injured list with left wrist inflammation. He should progress to live batters when the Dodgers return to Los Angeles and should be activated early-to-mid week.

David Price (wrist) threw a successful bullpen session on Wednesday.
Price has been shelved since September 4 due to inflammation in his left wrist. There’s still no clear timeline for a potential return to the Dodgers bullpen, but it’s at least a meaningful step in the right direction. Price has compiled a stellar 2.58 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 37/8 K/BB ratio across 38 1/3 innings on the year.

Dodgers placed LHP David Price on the 15-day injured list with left wrist inflammation.
It’s the same wrist that Price had surgery on during the 2019 campaign. The 37-year-old southpaw has been a valuable cog in the Dodgers bullpen this season, registering a 2.58 ERA, 1.17 WHIP and 37/8 K/BB ratio over 38 1/3 innings. It’s not clear how long he’ll be sidelined. Ryan Pepiot was recalled from Triple-A in a corresponding move.

David Price gave up two hits and struck out one in a third of an inning to pick up a save on Saturday against the Giants.
Price came out to close out the game after Reyes Moronta issued back-to-back two-out walks in the top of the ninth. The Giants ended up hitting two consecutive RBI singles, but Price struck out Austin Slater on a 94.5-mph sinker to end it. The veteran southpaw has a 3.42 ERA and 28/5 K/BB through 23 2/3 innings of relief.
