    Cardinals re-signed P Dave Zastudil to a two-year contract.
Among punters with at least 25 attempts, Zastudil ranked 17th in the league in gross punting last year, but 28th in net. The Cards may sign a priority free agent punter to compete with the 33-year-old Zastudil in training camp.

    Cardinals re-signed P Ben Graham.
The 37-year-old Graham is needed because Dave Zastudil is dealing with inflammation in his knee, and has struggled. Graham was Arizona’s punter last season. He could supplant Zastudil with a strong effort against the Vikings.

Punter Dave Zastudil suffered a left shoulder injury during the game, leaving backup quarterback Kordell Stewart to take over punting duties.
We have a Kordell Stewart sighting! He had five punts for a 35.4 yard average and even landed two of them inside the 20. Not only did he pick up the most yards he has in years, he may have found a new job.

Punter Dave Zastudil is expected to miss 3-4 weeks with a separated shoulder.
The Ravens will search for a new punter this week.

Cardinals P Dave Zastudil’s 2013 salary has increased from $975,000 to $1.475 million after triggering a salary escalator in his contract.
Zastudil punted a league-high 112 times this past season and had the fifth-highest net average at 41.4 yards. He also landed a league-best 46 punts inside the 20-yard line. Zastudil, 34, was one bright spot for Arizona, and he’s entering the final year of his deal.

    Cardinals re-signed P Dave Zastudil to a two-year contract.
Zastudil, 35, was scheduled to become a free agent in March. In 2013, he finished 13th in the league with his 40.1 net average and dropped a league-high 15 punts inside the 10-yard line.

    Cardinals released P Dave Zastudil.
Drew Butler will be the Cards’ starter this season. Zastudil has been the Cards’ punter since 2011, but was limited to two games by a groin injury last season. Going on 37, Zastudil has been punting since 2002.
  • Browns released P Scott Player and claimed DT Louis Leonard off waivers from the Rams.
Player’s facial hair and helmet combination should have earned a multi-year contract. We’ll miss him, but Dave Zastudil will take over punting duties. Leonard, a big body from Fresno State, will work behind starter Ethan Kelley and Ted Washington at nose tackle.
