    Colts waived RB Darren Evans.
Consider this more confirmation that Joseph Addai (hamstring, questionable) will play. Even though the Saints are ranked 30th in YPC allowed (5.12), Addai is not a recommended play coming back in the second week of what was thought to be a multi-week injury. The threat of a committee approach or an in-game setback just doesn’t justify the potential upside, here.

Colts promoted RB Darren Evans from the practice squad.
Evans was waived three weeks ago. His re-signing could be an indication the Colts won’t even activate Joseph Addai (hamstring) as an emergency back on Sunday. If Evans contributes, it will be on special teams.
  • FA Running Back #29
Joseph Addai (hamstring) is unlikely to be active as the Colts’ emergency back against the Jaguars after Darren Evans was promoted from the practice squad.
If you were planning to throw an Addai hail mary in a deeper league, it’s time to look elsewhere, though official word on his status won’t come until Sunday morning. Evans should only be a factor in the running game if Donald Brown or Delone Carter goes down with injury.
  • FA Running Back #36
Colts signed RB Darren Evans to a reserve/future contract.
An undrafted rookie out of Virginia Tech, Evans spent two games on the Colts’ active roster this season, but was held off the stat-sheet. A power-back who made a successful comeback from a torn ACL during his final year at VT, Evans carried the ball 25 times for 96 yards during the preseason.

    Colts waived RB Darren Evans.
Not the greatest news for Donald Brown this week. The move suggests Joseph Addai (hamstring) will be able to contribute against the Panthers, though his role remains uncertain.
  • FA Running Back #36
Colts waived or released RBs Darren Evans and Deji Karim, WRs Jeremy Ross and Kashif Moore, TEs Andre Smith and Kyle Miller, OTs Mike Tepper and Steven Baker, C Zane Taylor, DTs Jason Shirley and Chigbo Anunoby, LBs Greg Lloyd and Jerry Brown, G Hayworth Hicks, Ss Latarrius Thomas and Mike Newton, DE James Aiono and CB Brandon King.
A power back, Evans never had much chance at earning a roster spot after the Colts spent a fifth-round pick on bruiser Vick Ballard. Evans gained just 58 yards on 24 preseason carries. A seventh-round pick of the Eagles last season, Lloyd was waived at final cuts before joining the active roster in November.
  • FA Running Back #36
Titans placed RB Darren Evans (quadriceps) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Roster yo-yo OG Kyle DeVan was re-signed in a corresponding move. Evans was just promoted from the practice squad over the weekend and didn’t play at Jacksonville. He’s unlikely to be back with the Titans in 2013.
  • FA Running Back #36
Titans signed RB Darren Evans from the practice squad and waived OL Kyle DeVan.
With No. 2 running back Jamie Harper (ankle) listed as questionable, Tennessee needs depth at the position. DeVan has been a roster yo-yo this season and has yet to play in a game.
  • FA Running Back #36
Coach Jim Caldwell said that RB Darren Evans will be signed to the practice squad if he clears waivers.
Evans was waived on Tuesday to make room for S Stevie Brown. The Colts want to maintain depth at running back with Donald Brown inept and Joseph Addai in his decline phase.

Colts signed RB Darren Evans from their practice squad.
This is the surest sign yet that Joseph Addai’s hamstring injury will keep him out of this week’s game at Cincinnati. Evans will act as the third running back while Donald Brown and Delone Carter handle the majority of the workload.
