The San Francisco Chronicle reports the Raiders are “strong players” for Darrelle Revis.
Reporter Vittorio Tafur also confirms the Browns are firmly in the mix. It’s unclear if the Raiders would be willing to trade for Revis at his current salary, but they certainly have the cap room. Trade would be Oakland’s only means of acquiring one of the game’s top corners, as there’s almost no way he’d sign as a free agent with a team so far away from contention.

ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports Darrelle Revis trade talks are expected to “drag into Wednesday.”
Wednesday at 4ET is the deadline the Bucs have set to either have Revis traded away, or release him. Schefter confirms both the Browns and Raiders “are talking” to the Bucs about a potential trade. Each team is flush with salary cap space and could fit Revis under its cap. According to Schefter, the Bucs have been “attempting” to trade Revis since the Combine in mid to late February.

The San Francisco Chronicle’s Vic Tafur reports the Raiders have ended their pursuit of Darrelle Revis.
Revis reportedly was unwilling to restructure his contract and the $16 million cap number that comes with it. The Buccaneers need to trade or release Revis before Wednesday to avoid paying a $1.5 million roster bonus.

Vic Tafur of the San Francisco Chronicle reports the Raiders are interested in signing free agent CB Darrelle Revis.
If Revis fields an offer from Oakland, it will only be to drive up his price. The Chiefs have also been linked to Revis because of his connection to defensive coordinator Bob Sutton. When the dust settles, this will be a two-horse race between the Jets and Patriots. If Revis wants to win another Super Bowl, his best bet is the Pats. If it’s about money, he’ll head back to his old stomping grounds in New York.

NFL Network’s Albert Breer reports the Jets CB Darrelle Revis will not exclusively shadow Wes Welker Sunday.
Breer reports the Jets will instead mix coverages, with the goal being to create “disruption.” Sitting at 40 catches and 616 yards through New England’s first four games, Welker could set NFL records for the most receptions and yards through five games if he’s able to haul in eight passes for 89 yards this afternoon. Don’t think Revis doesn’t know that.

Darrelle Revis is unhappy with his contract, and didn’t rule out the possibility of a holdout when speaking to reporters Monday.
“I just don’t know,” he said. “I’m not saying I am going to holdout. I’m not saying I’m not.” Revis held out for over a month in 2010 before signing a four-year, $46 million extension. Only 26 and the NFL’s the most dominant player at his position, Revis is upset after watching inferior Brandon Carr and Cortland Finnegan land huge contracts. He has plenty of leverage and likely won’t be satisfied until he’s the league’s top-paid cornerback, perhaps by a large margin.

Darrelle Revis was elusive Thursday when asked if he was satisfied with his contract.
“I am. I’m cool. I signed it two years ago,” said Revis, adding that it was a good deal “at the time.” Although Revis is attending workouts, he wouldn’t commit to arriving to training camp on time. He expects his agents to be in contact with GM Mike Tannenbaum over the next couple of months.

Darrelle Revis led the NFL with a passer rating of 45.6 on throws into his coverage last season, according to Pro Football Focus.
Revis allowed just 41.2 percent of all targets to be complete, including just 26.1 percent in the fourth quarter (for a passer rating of 1.3). Revis also recorded 20 total pass breakups while allowing just one touchdown on 85 targets. A true shutdown corner, Revis has been arguably the NFL’s most valuable defensive player since Rex Ryan took over the Jets three years ago.

Opposing quarterbacks have a 2.9 passer rating this season when throwing at Darrelle Revis.
Revis has allowed just 10 receptions and no touchdowns while covering the opponents’ No. 1 receiver on a weekly basis. It’s an unheard of pace, even by Revis’ high standards -- and certainly puts him in the conversation for Defensive Player of the Year. Stevie Johnson is next up on Revis’ hit list.

Jets CB Darrelle Revis insists coach Rex Ryan didn’t know the extend of the locker room discord behind the scenes last season.
“It was just so much stuff. I’m really not going to get into it because some of the stuff is real deep,” said Revis. “But he didn’t know a lot of the things. He wanted people to say things to him. But obviously it didn’t come out. It came out on the field (late in the season).” Ryan has to do a better job of staying on top of the locker room. He’ll enter the 2012 season on the hot seat.
