Daniel Oturu signed a 10-day hardship contract with the Raptors on Friday, per Adrian Wojnarowski.
The second-year center out of Minnesota played 30 games for the Clippers last season, averaging 1.8 points and 1.6 rebounds in 5.4 minutes per game. He’s not worth rushing to the wire for.

  • NBA Power Forward #20
The Bulls have waived Daniel Oturu.
He was added on a camp deal back in September, but wasn’t able to show himself deserving of a regular season roster spot.

  • FA Shooting Guard #55
The Bulls released Ethan Thompson and Daniel Oturu on Monday, but coach Billy Donovan hopes both will end up with the teams’ G-League affiliate, per Rob Schaefer of NBC Sports Chicago.
Neither Thompson nor Oturu was expected to make the Bulls roster, so this is not a surprise. If no other NBA teams choose to sign Thompson or Oturu, both will likely suit up for Chicago’s G-League affiliate, the Windy City Bulls.

  • NBA Power Forward #20
The Chicago Bulls have added Daniel Oturu to their training camp roster, per Malika Andrews of ESPN.
Oturu just got waived by Memphis a few days ago, so he has a new home for the time being. Chicago is lacking some size right now, especially since it was just announced that starting power forward Patrick Williams is going to miss 4-to-6 weeks with a pretty gnarly ankle sprain, so Oturu could actually have a shot at making the 15-man roster. Even if he does, new signing Alize Johnson will likely be ahead of Oturu in the rotation, so his fantasy outlook still isn’t all too great.

  • FA Small Forward #30
The Memphis Grizzlies have resigned Sean McDermott on Thursday.
The Grizzlies’ 2021 training camp roster was put out, and McDermott made the cut for the time being. He was lucky as Daniel Oturu and Carsen Edwards were waived, but the chances of McDermott being a regular rotation player (or fantasy asset) are slim to none.

  • NBA Power Forward #20
Daniel Oturu has been waived by the Memphis Grizzlies.
Oturu was the 16th head on Memphis’ roster, so the chances of him making the team were never great. He’ll either have to find a new home in the NBA or continue to develop his game elsewhere.

  • NBA Power Forward #20
Daniel Oturu is headed to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for Eric Bledsoe, along with teammates Patrick Beverley and Rajon Rondo.
Oturu didn’t have fantasy value in Los Angeles, and his situation is now even worse with Jaren Jackson Jr. and Brandon Clarke already being legitimate power forward options. He may even be waived as this was Memphis’ 16th guaranteed contract, so It’s safe to ignore him in all leagues.

  • Point Guard #21
The Los Angeles Clippers have traded Patrick Beverley, Rajon Rondo and Daniel Oturu to the Memphis Grizzlies in exchange for point guard Eric Bledsoe.
Ja Morant is the main man at point guard for the Grizzlies, so it’s pretty unclear what types of roles Rondo and Beverley will have over there at this point. There’s a chance one or both of these guys are moved, but for the time being, Rondo will bring some veteran leadership to Memphis while Beverley could help mentor Ja on the defensive end while playing a bit of shooting guard here and there. For what it’s worth, we don’t expect either guy to have an impact in fantasy hoops.

  • NBA Point Guard #5
Per Adrian Wojnarowski of ESPN, the Memphis Grizzlies have traded Eric Bledsoe to the Los Angeles Clippers in exchange for Patrick Beverley, Rajon Rondo and Daniel Oturu.
Nothing like a random, mid-August Woj Bomb on a Sunday evening. This is a bizarre trade to say the least, but makes a bit of sense for the Clippers as they had too many guards and were able to get rid of a pair of expiring deals. Bledsoe was less than impressive with the Pelicans this past season, averaging 12.2 points per game on 42.1% shooting with not much else, and now he’ll be backing up Reggie Jackson, who the Clippers recently inked to a two-year deal after an incredible 2021 playoff run. He can still hoop, but the days of Eric Bledsoe being an all-around fantasy stud appear to be over.

  • NBA Power Forward #20
Daniel Oturu had a career night in a loss to the Thunder on Sunday, notching 13 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, two steals, a block and even a triple in 37 minutes of action.
If anyone out there played Oturu in DFS tonight, we would like to borrow your crystal ball. All kidding aside, he took advantage of the opportunity tonight and showcased his talent, but this will not be a trend on this stacked Clippers team. Oturu and the Clips have secured the No. 4 seed in the West and will now play Dallas in the first round in a series rematch from last season, where LA won in six. Terance Mann scored 19 points of his own off the bench with little else in 23 minutes.
