Kenny Yeboah caught both of his two targets for 36 yards in New York’s Week 17 loss to Tampa Bay.
With Tyler Kroft on the COVID-19 list and Ryan Griffin on IR, Yeboah made some impressive third-down catches to keep drives alive. His competition, Daniel Brown (not the Da Vinci Code guy) had two targets of his own, but 24 of his yards came on one leak play to the flat where he was wide open. If any of this information matters for your fantasy objectives in Week 18, your league is amazing.

  • FA Tight End #87
Chiefs acquired TE Daniel Brown from the Jets in exchange for OL Laurent Duvernay-Tardif.
It could signify more 12/13 personnel for Kansas City after Patrick Mahomes completed the most passes behind the line of scrimmage by any quarterback in a game since 2016 on Monday night. Brown, a core special teamer in New York, had played 13 snaps on offense all year.

  • FA Tight End #84
    Jets signed TE Ryan Griffin.
Ousted from the roster at last cuts, the Jets announced a plethora of releases and IR placements today and brought back Griffin. After the trade of Christopher Herndon, the Jets tight end room is: Tyler Kroft, Trevon Wesco, the also newly-signed Daniel Brown, and Griffin. Kroft is the likely starter but his limited pass-catching abilities could leave the door open for Griffin to get some work on receiving downs. Regardless of their split, neither New York tight end projects to have any relevance in fantasy unless Zach Wilson comes out of the gates slinging it. The Jets also signed safety Sharrod Neasman.

  • FA Tight End #87
    Jets re-signed TE Daniel Brown.
Primarily a special teams player for New York, Brown, 28, will return for his third season with the Jets. Brown played a team-high 334 snaps on special teams last year. He had two receptions last season on limited offensive snaps, and hasn’t caught more than 10 balls since the 2017 season.

  • FA Tight End #87
Jets re-signed TE Daniel Brown to a one-year contract.
Going on 28, Brown has 42 career receptions, seven of which have come since 2017. He’s primarily a special teamer.
  • FA Tight End #87
Jets TE Daniel Brown caught 1-of-2 targets for four yards in New York’s Week 15 loss to the Ravens.
The Jets’ new starting tight end in place of Ryan Griffin (ankle, injured reserve), Brown also helped block a punt. Although Griffin was providing sporadic fantasy value, 27-year-old Brown figures to remain safely irrelevant for Weeks 16 and 17 vs. the Steelers and Bills, respectively.
  • FA Tight End #87
ESPN’s Rich Cimini called TE Daniel Brown the Jets’ surprise offseason standout.
Cimini notes Brown “has impressed with his ability as a receiver,” especially on deep routes with “more downfield speed than anticipated.” The receiver turned tight end only played 23 offensive snaps in Chicago last year, but this Jets tight end depth chart is softer. However, Brown is still a long shot to see meaningful snaps with a career 35-317-1 receiving line across four seasons.
  • FA Tight End #87
Jets signed TE Daniel Brown, formerly of the Bears.
Brown converted from receiver to tight end in Chicago. He didn’t catch a single pass under first-year coach Matt Nagy across 14 games last season after registering a 13-129-0 line for John Fox’s group the previous year. Brown will compete for a job.
  • FA Tight End #87
    Ravens waived WR/TE Daniel Brown.
Supposedly he played for the Ravens. Now he doesn’t.
  • FA Tight End #87
Daniel Brown caught 2-of-4 targets for 19 yards in the Bears’ Week 16 loss to the Redskins.
The Bears’ starting tight end isn’t a fantasy option.
