White Sox released OF Cornelius Randolph.
Randolph, who signed a minor league deal with the White Sox back in March, was selected 10th overall by the Phillies back in the 2015 MLB Draft and has yet to reach the majors. The 24-year-old outfielder was hitting just .118/.211/.177 with zero homers in 38 plate appearances at Double-A Birmingham this season.

White Sox signed OF Cornelius Randolph to a minor league contract.
Randolph, selected 10th overall by the Phillies in the 2015 MLB draft, slashed just .235/.323/.386 with five home runs and five stolen bases in 48 games (164 plate appearances) last season at Triple-A Lehigh Valley. The 24-year-old will function as organizational outfield depth for Chicago in 2022.

Phillies selected high school infielder Cornelius Randolph with the No. 10 overall pick in the 2015 draft.
Randolph, 18, saw his draft stock rise this spring behind a .528/.643/.924 batting line, four home runs, nine doubles and 18 stolen bases in 17 games for Griffin High School (Ga.). The Clemson commit is viewed as a potential as a middle-of-the-order power bat and has a chance to stick at the hot corner. The 6-foot-2, 200-pound left-handed hitter is a surprisingly good athlete with decent speed and more than enough arm strength for the left side of the infield. The recommended slot value for the No. 10 overall pick is $3,231,300.

Phillies prospect OF Cornelius Randolph reached base in each of his four plate appearances Thursday in his professional debut for the Gulf Coast League Phillies.
Randolph went 3-for-3 with a triple, RBI and walk in the game. The Phillies selected the 18-year-old with the No. 10 overall pick in this year’s draft and gave him a signing bonus of $3,231,300. An infielder in high school, Randolph already has been moved to the outfield, potentially giving him a more direct route to the major leagues than if he were to stay at either shortstop or third base. Regardless of his defensive home, Randolph’s excellent bat is what will make him an impact player for years to come.

Jim Callis of Baseball America reports that the Phillies have signed first-round pick infielder Cornelius Randolph for $3,231,300.
Randolph, 18, was selected No. 10 overall in last week’s First-Year Player Draft. He received the full slot value for the pick. Randolph is considered a future third baseman and has middle-of-the-order power.

Phillies OF prospect Cornelius Randolph clubbed four hits including his first home run of the season Tuesday for Low-A Lakewood.
It came in a 12-6 loss to Hagerstown. Randolph’s solo shot in the seventh inning was only his second minor league homer. He hit one last year during a brief stint in the Rookie-Level Gulf Coast League. The 2015 first-round pick has had a rough go of it this year. Even after Tuesday’s four-hit game, he’s still batting only .190 with a disappointing .586 OPS. Randolph doesn’t turn 19 for another month so he obviously has plenty of time to develop.
