  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Chiefs signed WR Corey Coleman, formerly of the Giants.
Once a promising receiver prospect drafted by the Browns in the first round of the 2016 draft, Coleman, 27, hasn’t appeared in an NFL game since 2018, serving a suspension in 2021 after tearing his ACL in 2020. He has an outside shot at making Kansas City’s roster this summer.

  • FA Wide Receiver #89
NFL suspended free agent WR Corey Coleman six games.
The reason is unknown, but six games is a PED-length suspension. Unable to make the Giants out of camp last fall, Coleman has not appeared in a regular season game since 2018. He tore his ACL in 2019. Although he is still only 26 years old, the No. 15 overall pick of the 2016 draft is at the end of the NFL line.

    Giants released WR Corey Coleman.
The No. 15 overall pick of the Browns in 2016, Coleman is running out of time in the NFL after missing all of last season with a torn ACL. The Giants decided to replace him with former Browns WR Damion Ratley.

  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Giants re-signed WR Corey Coleman to a one-year contract.
Coleman tore his ACL last summer and missed the entire season. He was in line for an offensive role prior to the injury, but the Giants need to be making plans to bolster their wideout corps in the draft next month. Coleman is a mere depth piece as a former first-round mega bust.
  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Corey Coleman suffered a torn ACL in Thursday’s practice and will miss the season.
Brutal. The Giants also lost Sterling Shepard to a broken thumb on the same day. The No. 15 overall pick in the 2016 draft, Coleman was looking at his biggest opportunity in the last couple years but will now be sidelined until 2020 when he’ll be a free agent in March. The Giants will move forward with Golden Tate, Cody Latimer, Darius Slayton, Russell Shepard, Bennie Fowler, and Alonzo Russell, among others, as their healthy wideouts.
  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Corey Coleman is the front-runner for the Giants’ No. 3 receiver job heading into camp.
Fifth-round rookie Darius Slayton and Cody Latimer will push the former first rounder in camp, but Coleman closed out the offseason program in the lead. This competition is unlikely to carry much fantasy significance, but the Giants need a deep threat to emerge.
  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Corey Coleman is working as the No. 3 receiver during Giants OTAs.
There is a slew of options behind Sterling Shepard and Golden Tate including fifth-round rookie Darius Slayton, so Coleman is far from guaranteed to keep the No. 3 job throughout the offseason. Still, it is a promising start after his position coach said the former first-rounder has a “big opportunity” this summer. Coleman reaching his potential would be massive for the Odell Beckham-less Giants.
  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Giants WRs coach Tyke Tolbert said former first-round pick Corey Coleman has a “big opportunity.”
Although he made an impact as a returner, Coleman caught just five passes last season after joining the Giants in October. “By him being in the offseason program with us, he is getting the whole gamut, from the very first install all the way through,” Tolbert said. He is also looking at a wide-open depth chart behind Golden Tate and Sterling Shepard, who are both more at home in the slot than outside. Coleman will be a name to watch during training camp.
  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Giants assigned a tender to restricted free agent Corey Coleman.
A former first-round pick, Coleman was almost certainly given the original-round designation. That tender will pay him $2.025 million this season. If another team is able to sign him away, they would owe the Giants a first-round pick. Simply put, that is not going to happen. Coleman only caught five passes for 71 yards in eight games with the Giants last season, but he did flash as a kick returner.
  • FA Wide Receiver #89
Corey Coleman did not catch a pass in the Giants’ Week 17 loss to the Cowboys.
Coleman did have several good returns, but he was not even targeted on offense. Signed to the active roster in October, Coleman caught just five passes for 71 yards in seven games with the Giants. Set to be a restricted free agent, Coleman could get a tender offer from the Giants, but that is far from a given. The 2016 first rounder is not a lock to be on a roster next season.
