Seahawks signed fifth-round WR Tory Horton to a four-year contract.
They also officially agreed to terms with seventh-round RB Damien Martinez and seventh-round WR Ricky White III. Horton and White will probably battle for a spot at the end of the roster behind Cooper Kupp, Jaxson Smith-Njigba and Marquez Valdes-Scantling. The Athletic’s Michael-Shawn Dugar has predicted that Horton will wind up as the main return specialist for Seattle this year in a recent mailbag. White and Jake Bobo will probably be in a true dogfight for the final spot in the wideout room.

Seahawks selected Colorado State WR Tory Horton with the No. 166 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Horton (6’3/196) spent two years at Nevada before transferring to Colorado State, where he immediately broke out with a 71-1,131-8 receiving line. He accounted for nearly half of the Rams’ receiving yards and two-thirds of their touchdowns. This would go on to be his best season by the market share numbers, but he improved his counting stats in 2023 with a 96-1,136-8 line. Horton only appeared in five games last year because of a knee injury. His counting stats were set to fall on a run-heavy CSU offense, but he did manage an elite 3.5 yards per route run before going down. Horton played primarily on the outside in college and worked the intermediate and deep portions of the field. His slight frame made it easy for more physical corners to push around in college, and that will only worsen at the NFL level. Horton is best suited for a Z receiver role in the pros.

Nevada sophomore WR Tory Horton entered the transfer portal on Friday.
Horton (6'2/175) became the last of Nevada’s top-six pass catchers from last season to announce his intention to leave the school. He joins Elijah Cooks, Melquan Stovall, and Justin Lockhart in the transfer portal. In his two seasons with the Wolfpack, Horton shined after Cooks broke his foot in November, grabbing 20 receptions for 309 yards and three touchdowns. After his success last season, Horton will likely draw attention, including his former head coach Jay Norvell at Colorado State, who now has four of his former receivers in the portal.

Nevada sophomore WR Tory Horton registered eight receptions for 91 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 23-21 loss at San Diego State.
Horton (6'2/175) and junior WR Melquan Stovall look to be the predecessors to senior big-play WR Romeo Doubs, when he attempts to move to the next level. Horton has five or more grabs in each of his past four outings, and he has recorded at least three receptions in all nine of his games this season. He’ll look to keep up the good work when the Wolf Pack return to Mackay Stadium next Friday to host Air Force in another key conference tilt.

Nevada sophomore WR Tory Horton had three receptions for a game-high 94 yards in Saturday’s 22-17 win at California.
Horton (6'2/175) had a 46-yard reception in the third quarter which helped set up an Elijah Cooks touchdown in the third quarter. He also had a 42-yard snare in the fourth quarter, although that drive ended later on an interception. Still, he had two of Nevada’s three plays of 40 or more yards, showing his big-play ability. He’ll look to keep it rolling next weekend at Mackay Stadium in Reno against Idaho State in the home opener.

Nevada freshman WR Tory Horton earned five receptions for 148 yards and three touchdowns in Saturday’s 37-26 win over Fresno State.
Horton dunked on his hometown. A Fresno native, Horton (6'2/175) torched the Bulldogs with a trio of scores, giving him more receiving touchdowns than all of Fresno State combined. What’s more impressive is that Horton was previously a nobody in this offense. There is no shame in that seeing as Horton is just a freshman, but he had never earned more than 50 yards in a game this year, so it isn’t like this kind of performance was expected. Look for the Wolfpack to keep getting Horton involved next week against the undefeated San Jose State.
