Dolphins signed WR Malik Washington to his rookie contract.
Washington was taken as a flier after a 2023 collegiate season in which he had the fifth most receiving yards in the nation and the most receptions. The highly-productive Washington could function as Miami’s WR3 if Odell Beckham struggles or misses time with injury this season. He’ll be a waiver wire name to monitor in 2024. The Dolphins also signed seventh round WR Tahj Washington and speedy RB Jaylen Wright, the 120th overall pick in the 2024 draft. Wright would be an interesting fantasy option if De’Von Achane or Raheem Mostert miss time.

Dolphins selected USC WR Tahj Washington with the No. 241 overall pick in the 2024 NFL Draft.
Washington (5’10/174) is expected to be viewed exclusively as a slot receiver at the next level. His slender frame is accompanied by small hands and a short wingspan, but Washington put together three productive seasons at USC and averaged an impressive 8.2 YAC/REC in his final two seasons. Washington struggled with drops throughout his career but dropped only one pass on 74 targets last season. Washington also returned punts and kicks with the Trojans and has been a mainstay on punt coverage. His special teams contributions should give him an edge when it comes to earning a roster spot this offseason.
  • MIA Wide Receiver #82
USC redshirt freshman WR Tahj Washington registered game highs with nine receptions and 78 yards in Saturday’s 31-16 loss at Arizona State.
Washington, the transfer from Memphis, has rolled up 17 receptions for 162 yards across the past two games. He has started to become a larger part of the offense, but he still hasn’t found the end zone in eight consecutive games dating back to Sept. 4 against San Jose State. He’ll look to return to his scoring ways next Saturday in Berkeley against the Cal Bears.

  • MIA Wide Receiver #82
USC redshirt freshman WR Tahj Washington caught eight passes for 87 yards in a 41-34 win on Saturday over Arizona.
Washington was having a solid game before the injury to Drake London, but things picked up for the former Memphis transfer after London was knocked out of the game -- and possibly the season. The 5-foot-11, 175-pound wideout has his season high in both catches and yardage, and while there are other talented receivers on the Trojans, it’s not hard to imagine he’s going to be one of the top targets for USC going forward. Washington and USC take on Arizona State next weekend.

  • MIA Wide Receiver #82
Former Memphis WR Tahj Washington listed as a starter on USC’s recently released depth chart
Tahj Washington, who transferred from Memphis this spring after a 743 yard, six touchdown campaign will start for the Trojans. Other notable starters include true freshman Joseph Manjack IV, a three-star recruit, and two redshirt freshmen at the tackle spots.

  • MIA Wide Receiver #82
Former Memphis redshirt freshman WR Tahj Washington transferred to USC.
Washington (5'11/175) entered the transfer portal earlier in March, taking about a week’s pause before making his public announcement on the move to USC. This makes for a strong pickup by the Trojans, as Washington flourished this past fall, registering a 43-743-6 receiving line. Barring a waiver from the NCAA -- or an outright rule change allowing a one-time transfer exemption, something which could very seriously be in play this summer -- Washington will have to sit out the 2021 season. Hypothetically, if he did receive instant eligibility, he would join Bru McCoy at the top of the receiving depth chart for the post-Amon-Ra St. Brown era.

  • MIA Wide Receiver #82
Memphis redshirt freshman WR Tahj Washington entered the NCAA transfer portal.
This is a big one, as Washington (5'11/175) was incredibly productive during the 2020 season. The redshirt freshman appeared in 11 games last season, catching 43 passes for 743 yards and six touchdowns. Washington led all freshman at the FBS level in receiving yards. He will have up to four seasons of eligibility remaining at his next stop, and Washington won’t lack for suitors.

  • MIA Wide Receiver #82
Memphis redshirt freshman WR Tahj Washington caught six passes for 76 yards and rushed for ten yards and a touchdown on two carries in Saturday’s 35-21 loss at Tulane.
Washington (5'10/170) was the only Tiger ball-carrier to reach the end zone, with his two-yard run pulling the Tigers to within seven points late in the second quarter. The redshirt freshman was more productive in the passing game, as he led Memphis in receptions while being targeted nine times on the day. For the season Washington has caught 32 passes for 592 yards and five touchdowns, numbers that he’ll look to improve upon next Saturday against Houston.

  • MIA Wide Receiver #82
Memphis redshirt freshman WR Tahj Washington caught two passes for 102 yards with a score in a 49-10 loss to Cincinnati on Saturday.
This looked like it was going to be a fun football game early on, as Washington tied the game at 7-7 with a 92-yard touchdown from Brady White in the first quarter. That would be the only touchdown of the game for the Tigers, and as you can see from the score, Cincinnati would score a lot more. Washington (5'10/170) has been a bright spot for Memphis, but not enough of one on Saturday for them to defeat a Bearcats team that is looking more and more legit every week. The redshirt freshman should have another big game next Saturday against USF.

  • MIA Wide Receiver #82
Memphis redshirt freshman WR Tahj Washington caught five passes for 77 yards with two touchdowns in a 41-29 victory over Temple on Saturday.
Washington (5'10/170) opened the scoring with a three-yard scoring pass from Brady White in the first quarter, and the two connected again on a 26-yard score in the middle of the third to open the Tigers’ lead to 27-15. The three-star signing has impressed over these last two games, as this strong outing comes after a 7-131-2 line in the win over UCF last Saturday. Washington should be involved again in a marquee contest against Cincinnati on Halloween.
