Wednesday morning BcS Top 25 one-liners

Here is an interesting way to look at the remainder of No. 1 Oregon’s season: The three biggest games in Oregon Duck football history loom ahead.

Wow. Reports are flying around now surrounding No. 2 Auburn’s starting quarterback -- the frontrunner for the Heisman -- Cameron Newton claiming his father, Cecil Newton, chose Auburn over Mississippi State because there was too much money involved.

No. 3 TCU will play its final game at Amon G. Carter Stadium this weekend.

The offense for No. 4 Boise State has been outstanding, but the play of the defensive line may be more important.

You can check out what No. 5 LSU’s head coach Les Miles has to say on converting eight of his nine tries on fourth down by clicking HERE.

With a little bit of Luck, No. 6 Stanford might have a Maxwell Award winner.

Comparing one of No. 7 Wisconsin’s players to the Tasmanian devil is a good thing, right?

Bo Pelini--No. 8 Nebraska’s head coach--gave his opinion on what happened with Kansas against Colorado last Saturday. If you do not remember, or you have yet to hear, Kansas overcame a 35-point deficit and scored 35 points of its own in the fourth quarter to beat Colorado, sending Dan Hawkins on his way out of Boulder, Colorado.

It is tradition for No. 9 Ohio State to run more often than pass come November.

How do you keep an offensive coordinator that makes your team the third-best offense in the nation, with a first-year quarterback to boot? I sure don’t know, but maybe No. 10 Oklahoma State does.

No. 11 Michigan State head coach Mark Dantonio is hoping his players can visit home this weekend seeing as the Spartans have a bye-week.

No. 12 Alabama is really bothered with the problems it is facing, some of which are unclear.

It is frustrating for No. 13 Iowa that its defensive front cannot get to opposing quarterbacks as easily as last season.

No. 14 Utah is preparing for its next opponent in Notre Dame.

Defensive tackle Bryan Jones will return for No. 15 Arkansas. Jones has recorded 21 tackles through four starts.

No. 16 Oklahoma head coach Bob Stoops did not second-guess his play calls from last Saturday’s loss to Texas A&M. (Side note: Is the reason DeMarco Murray is not a huge playmaker because he cannot handle a lot of carries each week? No one in the NFL will like that.)

No. 17 Missouri quarterback Blaine Gabbert to the media after last Saturday’s loss: “I think you guys are the ones who want me pulled. Everybody on my team wanted me out there. I wanted to be out there. Your guys’ opinions on who should get yanked, what should be called really does not matter to us at all.”

No. 18 Arizona will retire eight jerseys this weekend during halftime of its contest with USC.

Here is the weekly press conference from No. 19 Mississippi State’s head coach Dan Mullen amidst the teams’ bye-week on Monday.

No. 20 Virginia Tech will be without a few players for its upcoming game against North Carolina.

In a little over 10 quarters of play against Fresno State in his career, No. 21 Nevada starting quarterback Colin Kaepernick has scored 10 touchdowns and had zero turnovers.

Cam Newton used to play for No. 22 Florida, but transferred away. It’s now speculated upon that perhaps he left because he was caught cheating in class three times. Florida head coach Urban Meyer gave his take on the matter HERE.

No. 23 South Carolina senior defensive end Cliff Matthews: “Before I committed here, Coach Spurrier told me we have a chance. Four years is enough time for us to be where we want to be.”

Head coach Bill Snyder is confident in both potential starting quarterbacks for No. 24 Kansas State.

Bill Byrne, the Director of Athletics at Texas A&M, wishes to set a world-record for most students at a football game on November 20th against Nebraska.
