Of course he was.
According to the Knoxville News Sentinel, Tennessee quarterback Tyler Bray, along with a former UT football office employee, have been accused of tossing beer bottles from a balcony onto parked vehicles below. An apartment complex resident, Kirstie Allen, called police over the weekend after observing two males, who she later identified as the 20-year-old Bray and 26-year-old Michael Grandinetti, tossing the bottles.
Both Bray and Grandinetti were subsequently served with an eviction notice.
No charges have been filed, although that incident could be the lesser of two worries for the duo:Allen called police on Monday to report that her car had been vandalized.
Allen went into her apartment Monday to eat lunch about 1:10 p.m., according to the incident report. When she left her apartment about 30 minutes later, she saw that the front windshield of her car had been smashed. She estimated the damages at more than $500.
She told police that she thought her car was damaged in retaliation for her calling the police on Bray and Grandinetti over the beer bottle incident “a couple nights ago.”
UT has yet to comment on the situation and, again, no arrests have been made.
Bray has started at quarterback for the Vols the past two seasons, and is one of the top players at his position in the SEC.
UPDATED 2:43 p.m. ET: And just like that, the Bray beer bottle balcony imbroglio appears to have been resolved. The News Sentinel‘s Phil Kaplan tweeted the following a short time ago: “No charges filed. Will make restitution. Golf balls and beer bottles used.”
