You have to hand it the Stoops family -- they’re a dedicated and hardy lot.
One day after National Signing Day, the two Stoops brothers who are currently head coaches, Oklahoma’s Bob and Kentucky’s Mark, are both recovering from medical procedures they underwent recently, one of which was very recently. The Sooner Stoops underwent hip replacement surgery at some point shortly before signing day, The Oklahoman reported, while the Wildcat Stoops “had a procedure on his knee” Thursday morning, a UK spokesperson stated.
Bob Stoops was seen recently walking around with the aid of crutches, although it didn’t impact his efforts on the recruiting trail.

Mark Stoops actually pushed off what was described as “a little repair” until after signing day. That Stoops is expected to coach his Wildcats during spring practice. There was no word on what if any limitations the other, elder Stoops may have this spring.
OU was able to field the nation’s 14th-ranked class, while UK’s was rated No. 35.
