Texas WR hit with drunk-driving charge

Just as CFT’s “Days Without An Arrest” ticker was inching perilously close to the big 2-0, a Texas Longhorn has ensured that, unfortunately, we’re back to double zeroes.

According to Orangebloods.com, wide receiver Kendall Sanders was arrested early Saturday morning and charged with driving under the influence. Other than “alcohol,” what led to the arrest and charge is unknown at this point.

Sanders is the second UT player at his position to find himself on the wrong side of the law this offseason. In mid-March, receiver Cayleb Jones was charged with felony assault after allegedly breaking the jaw of a UT tennis player.

Jones was suspended indefinitely following that incident. UT has yet to announce any type of punitive measures that Sanders may or may not be facing.

As a true freshman in 2012, and after coming to UT as a four-star member of that year’s recruiting class, Sanders caught two passes for 15 yards. Oddly enough, Sanders was in line for a shot at the No. 3 receiver position vacated by Jones.
