The coaching carousel never stops and especially not so at this time of year as the NFL season winds down and assistants bounce between the pro and college game.
It looks like one such move will happen in the coming days and the great state of Texas as reports surfaced Sunday morning that Texas A&M cornerbacks coach Maurice Linguist is set to head up the highway and join Mike McCarthy’s new staff with the Dallas Cowboys.
The news was first reported by Yahoo! Sports and confirmed by a number of other outlets.

Linguist is a DFW native who played defensive back at Baylor so a role with America’s Team had to be quite the opportunity he couldn’t pass up. He has not coached in the NFL but does have 13 years of experience in college between stops at A&M, Minnesota, Mississippi State, Iowa State and others.
The departure is certainly a blow for the Aggies given Linguist’s reputation for developing talent and recruiting. It also leaves Jimbo Fisher with two staff openings in College Station ahead of the late signing period after tight ends coach Joe Jon Finley left for Ole Miss.
