Diddy Day at CFT continues unabated, with the identity of the alleged kettlebell attack victim finally revealed.
Multiple media outlets are reporting that UCLA strength and conditioning coach Sal Alosi was allegedly attacked by Sean Combs after he witnessed said coach verbally confront the hip-hop mogul’s son, Bruins defensive back Justin Combs. The elder Combs was arrested for assault with a deadly weapon after allegedly swinging a piece of weightlifting equipment at the coach.
And, if you’re thinking Alosi’s name sounds vaguely familiar in connection to another bizarre incident, you’d be absolutely correct.
Back in 2010, Alosi was the head strength and conditioning coach of the NFL’s New York Jets. During a game against the Miami Dolphins, Alosi intentionally tripped gunner Nolan Carroll as the player was moving into position to cover a punt. He was suspended and ultimately resigned in January of 2011.
In January of 2012, Jim Mora named Alosi as UCLA’s strength and conditioning coordinator for football.
