Michigan has some clarity in the running back situation as Fitz Toussaint has separated himself from the rest of that group. Equally clear, yet unfortunate at the same time, is that Michigan wide receiver Amara Darboh will be sitting on the sidelines this season.
Brady Hoke announced Wednesday morning that Darboh will miss the 2013 season with a foot injury. “I love Amara, and just hate it for him, how hard he worked through the offseason and fall camp to earn a starting role,” Hoke said.
Darboh saw limited action on special teams last season, but had worked his way into the starting rotation this year. The Wolverines do return Jeremy Gallon, who led the team in both receptions and receiving yards last year, and Drew Dileo. There’s plenty of young talent ready to step up too, but losing a projected starter hurts no matter the experience.
