It’s been a pretty good few days for Miami (Ohio) coach Chuck Martin: First, his Redhawks mount a furious comeback to beat UMass and end a 21-game losing streak. And on Monday, his school announced a homecoming for him.
Miami will travel to South Bend on Sept. 30, 2017 to face Notre Dame, where Martin was a safeties coach and offensive coordinator under Brian Kelly before accepting the head coaching gig at Miami last December. Notre Dame and Miami have faced each other once before, that being an Irish victory in 1909.
Miami’s 2017 non-conference schedule also features a trip to Marshall and a home game against Cincinnati.
Notre Dame’s 2017 schedule is now one game away from being complete. In addition to playing three permanent rivalry games (Navy, Stanford, USC) and five games against TBD ACC opponents, Notre Dame has home games against Miami and Georgia and a road game at Michigan State.
