National Signing Day is coming up in just under a week, so it is crunch time on the recruiting trail to make the lasting impressions needed to sign the remaining top recruits in the high school football world. On Thursday morning, Notre Dame pulled its equipment truck into Savannah, Georgia to surprise five-star wide receiver Demetris Robertson on his way to school.

The equipment truck, or at least the Irish coaches making the trip, also apparently made a stop at Waffle House, because that’s juts what you do down south.
Robertson is the top-ranked athlete in the nation according to Rivals, and the top-ranked recruit in the state of Georgia. Notre Dame is believed to be in the running for the Savannah Christian School product, although other contenders are believed to be California and Georgia Tech (he is scheduled to visit Georgia Tech on Friday and has already visited Cal and Notre Dame). Of course, you should never be surprised with Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State also always on the table as well.
Notre Dame’s recruiting class for 2016 is already receiving some high praise. The Irish have the nation’s No. 5 class as of now, according to Rivals.
