Either Nick Saban is the most focused, single-minded individual on the planet, or he’s bending the truth so as not to have to deal with the most divisive issue of our time.
Yesterday was one of the most monumental days in our nation’s history, with the the most heated, vitriolic presidential campaign this country has ever seen culminating in Donald Trump‘s stunning upset of Hillary Clinton. A person seemingly couldn’t go a couple of minutes without hearing an update on television or seeing it on their computer, tablet of smartphone.
Apparently, though, if you’re a head football coach, you can so sufficiently insulate yourself from the outside world and all of the political noise and “primal screams” that you are completely and totally unaware of what’s going on in any other realm but the gridiron.
“Well to be honest with you, I didn’t even know yesterday was election day,” the Alabama head coach said by way of al.com. “It was so important to me that I didn’t even know it was happening. We’re focused on other things here.”
OK then. It’s Nick’s world, we’re just spinning on it.
