In early December, Nebraska DT Baker Steinkuhler was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and blowing twice the legal limit into a breathalyzer test.
Now, nearly a month later, a Lancaster County Judge has ruled that Steinkuhler (which, oddly enough, seems to be a fitting last name given the reason for his legal trouble) will face 9 months probation, a $400 fine and will have his driver’s license revoked for 60 days.
Steinkuhler, who started in all 13 regular season games for the Huskers, was suspended for Nebraska’s 19-7 loss to Washington in the Holiday Bowl.
“He is a tremendous young man who made a mistake in judgment,” head coach Bo Pelini said at the time of Steinkuhler’s charge.
