NCAA approves hardship waiver for Houston WR Allen

Former Oregon wide receiver Chance Allen will not have to sit and wait a season before playing football with his new teammates in Houston. The NCAA has ruled he will be eligible to play right away this fall after approving a hardship waiver.

The university announced the news Wednesday evening with a press release on the school’s athletics website. Allen is a native of Missouri City, Texas and opted to move closer to home to help take care of his mother.

Allen played in five games for Oregon in 2014 but did not record any stats. He caught five passes for 98 yards in 2013 for the Ducks. Allen sat out one of his three years at Oregon with a redshirt, leaving him with two years of eligibility remaining at Houston.

BLESSSED!
