FLORIDA QB CAMERON NEWTON ARRESTED

Florida backup quarterback Cameron Newton has been arrested and charged with felony counts of burglary, larceny and obstruction of justice, the Gainesville Sun is reporting.According to the newspaper, Newton was booked into Alachua County Jail this afternoon. Few details have been reported on the arrest. The 6-foot-6, 240-pound Newton was a big-time recruit and is a very athletic quarterback, although he rarely plays behind starter Tim Tebow. He has been considered a likely successor to Tebow as the starter.Last season Newton saw limited action, passing for 40 yards, while this season he has had multiple injuries, including a bum ankle and a neck injury suffered in a car crash when someone rear-ended him.
