The American Athletic Conference will increase its membership to 12 football-playing members this fall with the addition of Navy. With 12 teams, the conference will also start playing a conference championship game this season to crown one true champion, rather than risk having a split conference champion. Today the conference unveiled the official logo for the new conference championship game on its Instagram page.
The American Athletic Conference Championship Game will be played over championship weekend on December 5. The game played at the site of the division champion with the best record, will kick at noon on either ESPN or ABC.
