As you have no doubt heard by now, America was hit by yet another senseless tragedy Thursday afternoon.
A heavily-armed gunman opened fire on several classrooms at Umpqua Community College in Oregon, about an hour south of Eugene and two hours south of Corvallis. Nine people were killed and at least another 10 wounded by the shooter, who was killed exchanging gun fire with law enforcement.
The shooting has sent shockwaves -- again -- throughout not only the state but the country as well bringing in an outpouring of condolences from all parts of the world. Ahead of what is, relatively speaking, meaningless football games this weekend, both the University of Oregon and Oregon State announced that they would be wearing helmet stickers to honor all of those impacted by the UCC shooting.
