I had never heard of Cornell quarterback Nathan Ford until tonight, and you probably hadn’t either. But he’s now one of the most famous college football players in the country. On tonight’s episode of The Office, there was a storyline in which Dwight wanted to get under Andy’s skin. Andy likes to brag that he went to Cornell, so Dwight tried to pass himself off as a Cornell man, wearing a Cornell sweatshirt, hanging a Cornell pennant and so on. And at one point Dwight mentioned that Cornell’s football team was having a good season, led by quarterback Nathan Ford.Ford really is Cornell’s quarterback, although he’s not really having all that great a year, with seven touchdown passes and 10 interceptions for The Big Red, which is 3-3 this season. But great year or not, a mention on The Office makes Ford a star.So kudos to you, Nathan Ford. How many prime time network TV shows have mentioned Colt McCoy?
