Nearly three months after leaving Penn State due to “weighty” issues that included academics and, well, his weight, Brandon Ware (pictured, No. 99) has found a new home in which to ply his football wares. The defensive lineman, though, is hoping it’s just a short pit stop before returning to Happy Valley.
Ware confirmed to The Patriot-News Monday that he has enrolled at Eastern Arizona and will play at the JUCO level this fall. After a season in which he hopes to get both his academic and physical house in order, however, Ware has his eyes set firmly on a return to the Nittany Lions to care of some “unfinished business.”
Whether he’s afforded that opportunity remains to be seen.
“I just have to stay focused, I gotta keep my eyes on the prize,’' Ware told the paper. “My weight is good but I’m not in football shape. I still want to play Division I football and I would love to go back to Penn State because I know I have unfinished business there. ...
“I don’t know if I can get back to Penn State, I think I’ll have a better idea at the end of this season. I’m by myself out here, just trying to get to know people, and I gotta stay strong.”
Ware played in 10 games during the 2010 season.
