Alabama linebacker Ryan Anderson was arrested Tuesday in Tuscaloosa and charged with third-degree domestic violence and criminal mischief.
According to a report by AL.com, Anderson’s criminal mischief charge was a result of property damage. The details of the incident leading to the charges are unknown at this time, as police reports have not been made available.
Anderson, a junior, recorded 25 tackles for Alabama in 2014. He was expected to compete for a starting job at outside linebacker in 2015. How this news may or may not affect his status with the team is unknown for now.
UPDATE (12:38 p.m.): Tuscaloosa News reports Anderson is accused of kicking a woman’s vehicle during an argument at an off-campus residence Monday night. The woman, Sierra Patterson, is accused of throwing coins at Anderson’s vehicle and was charged with a similar domestic violence offense. Neither party was reported to have any physical injury.
