Jaguars signed West Virginia WR Marcus Simms to an undrafted free agent contract.
This assumes Simms’ physical tomorrow checks out. It will be a low guarantee contract and there should be zero expectations of Simms making the 53-man roster. Simms reportedly has character concerns and was utilized as a WR3 at West Virginia. He’ll be battling with the likes of Dredrick Snelson and Tyre Brady in Jacksonville.

The Athletic’s Dane Brugler reports scouts gave West Virginia WR Marcus Simms a draftable grade but his character “led to him going undrafted.”
Simms (6'0/195) maybe could have fetched a Round 6 or 7 pick if he checked out, but he’ll settle for an undrafted free agent contract. At West Virginia, Simms logged a 46-699-2 receiving line as a third option for Will Grier. Simms faces long odds of cracking an active roster, let alone a starting lineup.

According to Tony Pauline of Draft Analyst, former West Virginia WR Marcus Simms has filed the paperwork required to enter the NFL Supplemental Draft.
After catching 46 passes for 699 yards and two touchdowns last season, Simms (6'0/195) announced in late April that he would be leaving the WVU program. Pauline says that scouts have given Simms a sixth round grade, but he also has “a lot of character issues.” The NFL Supplemental Draft will be held in July, and the former Mountaineer may not be the only player available to be selected.

West Virginia senior R Marcus Simms tweeted that he is "[o]n to another chapter.”
Multiple outlets have confirmed that Simms does, indeed, plan on finishing out his collegiate career outside of Morgantown. His exit makes for a tough blow, as the 6-foot, 195-pounder was expected to work as lead wideout with both David Sills and Gary Jennings no longer on roster. During the fall campaign, Simms logged a 46-699-2 receiving line. The likes of T.J. Simmons, Dillon Spalding and Tevin Bush will need to step up at WVU now that Simms is set on taking his talents elsewhere.

According to Alex Hickey of West Virginia MetroNews, West Virginia senior WR Marcus Simms is expected to enter his name into the NCAA transfer database.
Simms (6'0/195) was in line to be West Virginia’s most experienced pass-catcher in 2019 due to the departures of David Sills and Gary Jennings. But he did not participate in spring practice due to a “personal issue,” and apparently the senior wideout is set to end his time in Morgantown. Simms, who missed West Virginia’s bowl game after suffering a concussion during the team’s regular season finale against Oklahoma, caught 46 passes for 699 yards and two touchdowns in 2018.

West Virginia senior WR Marcus Simms is “dealing with a personal issue.”
Simms is expected to take on a much larger role in 2019 with David Sills and Gary Jennings off to the NFL, but he has been absent from team activities. It’s unclear how long this issue has been effecting Simms, but he did miss the West Virginia bowl game last December.

West Virginia junior WR Marcus Simms is not playing in the Camping World Bowl on Friday against Syracuse.
Simms was forced out of the game against Oklahoma on November 23 with a head injury. The Mountaineers are also without Gary Jennings, so this will be the David Sills show -- although it was likely to be, anyway. Simms finishes with 46 catches for 699 yards, and likely will be one of the top options for the passing game in 2019.

West Virginia junior WR Marcus Simms was forced out of Friday’s game against Oklahoma in the first quarter due to a possible concussion.
Simms took helmet-to-helmet contact on what looked very clearly like targeting -- no flag was thrown -- and subsequently had his helmet taken away on the sideline due to concern over a potential concussion. He was heated at the universe, with the camera catching the junior pacing in animated fashion while talking with teammates and coaches. At this juncture, Simms should be considered doubtful to return to the contest.

West Virginia junior WR Marcus Simms caught nine passes for 138 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 42-34 win over Texas Tech.
Simms (6'0/196) hauled in a 45-yard touchdown midway through the first quarter to extend West Virginia’s lead to 21-0 early on. Saturday’s strong performance made for the junior’s third consecutive stellar game. He’s gone over 100 yards in each of those contests, making at least five grabs in each to boot. For the campaign, Simms is the owner of a 24-433-2 receiving line. A prime home matchup against Kansas shows next on the schedule for Simms and company.

West Virginia reinstated sophomore WR Marcus Simms following his one-game suspension for the opener against Virginia Tech on Sunday.
Simms was suspended for Sunday’s eventual loss as punishment for his arrest on charges of DUI and driving on a revoked license in mid-August after he was initially pulled over for a broken taillight. Simms (6'0/196) caught six passes for 95 yards and a touchdown as a true freshman last season. West Virginia tangoes with ECU on Saturday.
