Bills selected Maryland WR Kaden Prather with the No. 240 overall pick in the 2025 NFL Draft.
Prather (6’4/204) started his college career with two seasons at West Virginia before transferring to Maryland for his final two seasons. He was an outside receiver for the Terrapins, catching 56 passes for 624 yards and four touchdowns as a senior. Prather has a tall frame and good straight-line speed to be a downfield threat. He tested with the lowest vertical and broad jumps among wide receivers at the NFL combine, showing a lack of explosiveness that prevents him from being a consistent separator or contested catch receiver. If he can play special teams at the NFL level, Prather may be able to stick to a roster and enter a pass-catching rotation as a lanky outside receiver.
  • BUF Wide Receiver #3
West Virginia received a verbal commitment from four-star 2021 WR Kaden Prather.
Prather released a top five in April that also included Maryland, South Carolina, Oklahoma and Penn State. The 6-foot-3, 210-pound wideout currently plays in Germantown, Maryland; and he is rated the 13th best player in the state by 247Sports. They also rate him the 53rd best wideout in the 2021 class, with Brian Dohn of the website believing he can be a “multiyear starter for a Top 20 program.” With Prather’s commitment, West Virginia now has three four-star commits to the class, and 10 known commits overall.

  • BUF Wide Receiver #3
Uncommitted four-star 2021 WR Kaden Prather released a top-five list of Maryland, South Carolina, Penn State, Oklahoma and West Virginia.
Prather (6'3/210) plans on making use of all five of his official visits before locking in a decision with the pledge. Just when those visits might be made will depend on when the NCAA lifts its current ban on face-to-face recruiting. A physical wideout with a palatable frame for adding weight, the Germantown, Maryland, native slots onto the 247Sports composite board as the No. 300 overall prospect in the 2021 class.
