Jalen McMillan caught 2-of-4 targets for 41 yards in the Bucs’ Wild Card loss to the Commanders.
He also mistimed a reverse in the fourth quarter, which led to a botched handoff with Baker Mayfield and a costly fumble that helped give the Commanders the lead. On the season, McMillan caught 37-of-58 targets for 461 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. He was also second on the Bucs with eight plays of over 20 yards on the season. With Chris Godwin’s contract status up in the air, there’s a chance that McMillan will enter next season as the number two wide receiver in Tampa Bay, which would give him immediate fantasy appeal. However, we’ll have to see if the Bucs bring back Godwin or add any other receivers in the offseason.

Jalen McMillan (finger) was removed from the injury report and will play in the Wild Card Round against the Commanders.
No surprises here. McMillan popped up on the injury report with the finger issue on Wednesday but logged three full practices this week. He was never at any risk of missing Sunday’s game. Coming off a red-hot stretch of 316 yards and seven touchdowns over his past five games, McMillan is a strong FLEX option for the weekend’s slate.

Jalen McMillan (finger) practiced in full on Wednesday.
It is unclear as to when the injury occurred but practicing in full on a Wednesday is generally a positive sign. McMillan is playing exceptionally well right now, having caught 24-of-31 targets for 316 yards and seven touchdowns over the last five games. He remains a high-end fantasy starter for Wild Card Weekend unless the team reveals actionable, negative information regarding the finger issue.

Jalen McMillan caught 5-of-6 targets for 74 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers’ Week 18 win over the Saints.
McMillan got both feet in on a 33-yard dot from Baker Mayfield, and that touchdown was essentially what guaranteed Tampa Bay the victory and clinched the division. The 2023 third-round selection scored seven touchdowns over his last five games while scoring just one in his first eight. McMillan looks like the future of the Tampa Bay passing attack, and it’d be a surprise if he wasn’t heavily involved in the Wild Card round regardless of opponent.

Jalen McMillan caught all five of his targets for 51 yards and two touchdowns in the Bucs’ Week 17 win over the Panthers.
Spitting in the face of “regression, McMillan scored his fifth and sixth touchdowns of the past month in Tampa Bay’s blowout win. The first was a toe-tapping grab in the back of the end zone while the second, Tamp Bay’s final score of the day, was a short catch-and-run in the red zone. The pair of scores bring the rookie up to seven touchdowns on the season. McMillan has fully earned the trust of Baker Mayfield and the role of a true No. 2 receiver as his first regular season nears its end. He profiles as a fantasy WR3 for hi Week 18 matchup with the Saints.

Jalen McMillan caught 5-of-7 targets for 57 yards and a touchdown in the Buccaneers’ Week 16 loss to the Cowboys.
McMillan cashed in on an increase to his opportunities with Mike Evans seeing blanket coverage and Sterling Shepard departing early with a hamstring injury. His fantasy day could have been much bigger had he come down with a deep touchdown in the fourth quarter, a pass that was ultimately wrestled away from his clutches while going to the ground in the end zone with seven minutes left to play and the team down by nine points. McMillan appears likely to remain a secondary focal point through the air considering the nature of Shepard’s injury when the Bucs host the Panthers in week 17.

Jalen McMillan caught 5-of-6 targets for 75 yards and one touchdown in the Buccaneers’ Week 15 win over the Chargers.
The rookie looked good in this one. McMillan got open for a 26-yard touchdown early on thanks to Mike Evans’ and Cade Otton’s rub-route setup. McMillan earned his keep as the game progressed though. His Week 15 highlight occurred when he badly shook CB Kristian Fulton, leaving the Chargers CB teetering back on his own heels. Fulton recovered in time to tackle McMillan after the catch but the Chargers quickly subbed Fulton out for a few plays, with Fulton evidently needing a moment to collect himself. McMillan is an upside WR4 against the Cowboys in Week 16.

Jalen McMillan caught 4-of-7 targets for 59 yards and two touchdowns in the Bucs’ Week 14 win over the Raiders.
McMillan had struggled to find his footing heading into this game. He had four catches in just one other game and a max of 35 receiving yards. While we’re not saying he has fully arrived, this was easily the best McMillan has looked all year. He scored his first touchdown of the day on and fade route into the end zone from 15 yards out. McMillan later waltzed into the end zone on a well-designed screen late in the fourth quarter, icing the game for Tampa Bay. McMillan is still nothing more than a dart-throw WR5 heading into Week 15, but his breakout game could earn him more targets down the road.

Jalen McMillan caught 2-of-3 targets for 25 yards in the Buccaneers’ Week 13 win over the Panthers.
McMillan was even less effective than his paltry box score suggests. He was held to just one catch and three yards in regulation, adding on a 22-yarder in overtime. The once-promising rookie is now just a weekly WR6 or worse. He offers no reliability against the Raiders in Week 14.

Jalen McMillan caught 1-of-2 targets for 11 yards in the Bucs’ Week 12 win over the Giants.
The two targets were at least an improvement on the zero McMillan saw in Week 10 before the Bucs’ bye week. With Mike Evans back from his hamstring injury and TE Cade Otton the clear No. 2 option in the passing game, McMillan is not worth rostering in re-draft fantasy leagues despite the Bucs’ receiver shortage.
