Mississippi State interviewed Valparaiso coach Bryce Drew Monday for its vacant coaching job, ESPN reported.
No offer has been made. (UPDATE: Chris Dortch is reporting that Drew has accepted the job, but the guys on the Mississippi State beat have yet to confirm that report.)
The school had expressed interest in Murray State coach Steve Prohm, but he’s staying put after signing an extension. The school also interviewed Wisconsin-Milwaukee’s Rob Jeter.
Drew, 37, was 22-12 in his first season at Valparaiso, his first as a head coach after spending six seasons as an assistant under his father, Homer. The Crusaders won the Horizon League regular-season title, but lost in the conference tournament finals.
