Michigan had a couple of extra scholarships to fill this offseason following the 2014 NBA Draft departures of sophomores Nik Stauskas and Glenn Robinson III and the transfer of junior forward Jon Horford.
Head coach John Beilein has opted to fill one of those scholarships this spring, and on Saturday, 2014 guard Muhammad Ali Abdur-Rahkman committed to the Wolverines, according to his Twitter. Abdur-Rahkman was offered a scholarship this weekend while on an official visit to the Ann Arbor campus.

A 6-foot-4 native of Allentown, Pennsylvania, Abdur-Rahkman was a four-time all-state selection and broke the Central Catholic High School career scoring record with 2,136 career points. Abdur-Rahkman averaged 23.6 points, 4.1 assists and 6.2 rebounds per game as a senior.
Abdur-Rahkman joins Portland native and wing Kameron Chatman, Sacramento native and forward D.J. Wilson, Florida native and center Ricky Doyle and wing Austin Hatch in Michigan’s 2014 recruiting class.
