Former Notre Dame guard Alex Dragicevich will transfer to Boston College, Brian Hamilton of the Chicago Tribune is reporting.
Dragicevich, who announced in late March his intent to transfer, averaged 6.8 points and 1.9 rebounds per game last season for the Irish.
“Their system is something that I was really surprised by,” Dragicevich told the Tribune. “It surprised me in a way where comparing to other schools recruiting me, I really see myself succeeding in it. The way they play is perfect for me, in my eyes.
“I like the way they move the ball, the way they screen, and they like to score it a lot. They like to get up and down the court.”
This news comes the same day that former Notre Dame teammate Scott Martin was granted a sixth year of eligibility by the NCAA.
Dragicevich was a two-star prospect out of Glenbrook North HS (Ill.) from the Class of 2010 and was considering schools that include Butler, Oklahoma State, and Xavier before committing to the Irish.
At 6-7, 221 pounds, Dragicevich should work his way into the rotation when he becomes eligible, after the Eagles finished 329th in the nation in scoring and 326th in rebounds this past season.
“From what (Boston College) coach (Steve) Donahue told me, he said I can come in and really help them score,” Dragicevich said in that same interview. “That’s what they like to do. He likes to get scorers out there, he likes guys who know how to play. They thought I was a smart player and that’s how I fit in – somebody who knows how to play.”
Dragicevich chose Boston College over his other finalist, Loyola.
