Louisiana-Monroe redshirt junior Colby Suits completed 4-of-6 passes for 31 yards and no interceptions or touchdowns in ULM’s 59-6 loss to CCU.
Chandler Rogers was handed the start, and Suits (6'3"/240) replaced him for two drives in the second quarter before Rogers was reinserted into the game. Neither did well, with Rogers throwing for just 100 yards and a pick. CCU was on them from the jump, and they couldn’t really establish anything on offense with the game turning so quickly on them. The blocked punt in the second quarter to make it 28-3 was really the nail in the coffin and Monroe was never in this one. ULM will need to be much better to have a chance against Georgia State next week.

ULM redshirt sophomore QB Colby Suits withdrew his name from the transfer portal.
Suits (6'3/240) started ULM’s first eight games of the season, but was pulled in favor of Jeremy Hunt when he completed zero passes in three attempts, while tossing an interception and taking a sack in a 52-34 loss to Georgia State on November 14. Hunt entered the game and looked great, passing for 339 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Panthers. He was far less effective in his last two games for the 0-10 Warhawks, so this position is very much unsettled heading into 2021. Suits had entered the portal back on November 16, but changed his mind with former Auburn and Akron HC Terry Bowden returning to coach ULM next season since there is now a clean slate for Suits to compete for the starting QB job.

ULM redshirt sophomore QB Colby Suits opted out and entered the transfer portal.
Suits (6'3/240) started ULM’s first eight games of the season, but was pulled in favor of Jeremy Hunt last Saturday when he completed zero passes in three attempts, while tossing an interception and taking a sack in a 52-34 loss to Georgia State. Hunt entered the game and looked great, passing for 339 yards, three touchdowns and zero interceptions against the Panthers. His strong performance for the 0-8 Warhawks likely forced Suits’ hand into the portal since it’s unlikely that the sophomore former-starter would be seeing much playing time going forward. ULM has a bye this week before taking on Louisiana on Saturday, November 28.

ULM redshirt sophomore QB Colby Suits completed 19-of-30 passes for 134 yards and a 1-1 ratio in a 31-13 loss to Appalachian State on Saturday.
Suits (6'3"/240) was swimming upstream again, as Sun Belt Conference bully Appalachian State dominated Louisiana-Monroe on both sides of the ball. The redshirt sophomore QB played decently, but 3.8 yards per attempt and 3.2 yards per carry as a team are simply not going to cut it. His lone 15-yard touchdown pass to Malik Jackson came with time expiring in the fourth quarter, allowing ULM to reach double digits in what can only be described as a moral victory. The winless Warhawks will try to pick up their first actual victory when they host Georgia State next Saturday.

ULM redshirt sophomore QB Colby Suits completed 22-of-33 passes for 282 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in Saturday’s 38-14 loss to South Alabama.
Suits was fine in ULM’s sixth loss in a row. Though he did cough up the interception, Suits was mostly fine in keeping the offense on the field and picking up solid gains. There was not much of a run game backing him up, though, so ULM’s offense still stalled out more than it needed to in a game where the opponent ripped off 38 points. Maybe ULM can find their first win next week against Georgia State.

ULM redshirt sophomore QB Colby Suits was benched in the third quarter of Saturday’s 40-7 loss to Liberty.
Suits (6’3/240) had played solid to this point in lieu of circumstances around him. But he was dreadful today, averaging only 2.9 YPA on 29 passes for 78 yards, zero TD and two interceptions. Jeremy Hunt came in and went 3-for-6 for 42 yards and a TD in garbage time. We’ll have to see if that’s enough for Hunt to hop Suits on the depth chart. ULM is next scheduled to take the field a week from Thursday against South Alabama.

ULM redshirt sophomore QB Colby Suits is expected to start the team’s season opener at Army on Saturday.
Suits (6'3/242) appeared in just four games last season, but he’s been a part of the ULM offensive system longer than any of the other quarterbacks on the roster. Junior college transfer Jeremy Hunt, who enrolled at ULM back in December, will also see some action against the Black Knights. “Really a lack of spring and then just only one scrimmage with limited plays, we haven’t seen enough I think is no. 1,” ULM HC Matt Viator said. “No. 2 we have confidence in both guys, and the third thing is in normal years with injury, then you throw in COVID-19 also, I think it’s smart to play multiple guys early in the season because you just never know who you’re going to have what particular week.”

Louisiana-Monroe redshirt sophomore QB Colby Suits completed 14-of-19 passes for 148 yards and a touchdown in Saturday’s 37-7 loss to Army.
This was Suits’ first game as ULM’s starter after playing sparingly behind Caleb Evans last season. And while the final score most definitely does not impress, the 6-foot-3, 242-pound signal-caller was competent enough versus the Black Knights, averaging 7.8 YPA while throwing a generally accurate ball. His lone touchdown pass in the contest came on a six-yard toss to Malik Jackson with a touch over two minutes remaining in the first half. Opening nerves out the way, Suits will look to build on this performance when ULM takes on Texas State next Saturday.

ULM redshirt sophomore QB Colby Suits completed 17-of-27 passes for 184 yards, one touchdown, and one interception in Saturday’s 31-6 loss to UTEP.
Suits faced a tall order trying to keep up with the UTEP offense in this one and he couldn’t deliver. At one point, Suits was even briefly benched. Suits’ previous two starts were better than this one against UTEP, though, so it’s not as if the young passer has no good tape to look back on. We’ll see if Suits can bounce back against Georgia Southern on Oct. 3.

  • Quarterback #15
ULM redshirt sophomore QB Colby Suits completed 31-of-54 passes for 334 yards and two touchdowns while also rushing for 51 yards on seven carries in Saturday’s 35-30 loss to Georgia Southern.
Unfortunately for Suits (6’3/240) he didn’t finish the game with 52 rushing yards, as he was tackled less than a yard short of the end zone on the game’s final play. Heartbreaking finish aside the redshirt sophomore played very well, as he surpassed the 300-yard mark for the second time this season and has now thrown for more than 1,000 yards on the season. Suits will look to lead the Warhawks to their first win of the season October 10 when they visit Liberty.
