Texans signed KR Trindon Holliday, WR Juaquin Iglesias, DL Sunny Harris, LB Derrell Smith, C Cody Wallace, and DB Torri Williams to reserve/futures contracts.
Holliday doesn’t play receiver, so he’s a longshot for the 2012 roster even after Jacoby Jones’ miscues led in large part to the Texans’ season-ending loss. Iglesias was a final cut in Minnesota last September.
  • FA Center #72
Bucs claimed C Cody Wallace off waivers from the Texans.
A journeyman former fourth-round pick, Wallace will be joining his fourth team in four years. His only career appearance came in 2009.
  • FA Center #72
Steelers signed C/G Cody Wallace and waived OG John Malecki.
They deemed Wallace a better option to add experienced interior depth. Malecki will probably go on the practice squad after getting waived.
  • FA Center #72
Free agent C Cody Wallace has interest from the Packers and Saints.
It’s his first known interest since the start of free agency. Wallace missed all last season with a knee injury he’s still working back from. The Saints could be a solid fit as veteran insurance for Max Unger.
  • FA Center #72
Steelers C/G Cody Wallace “appears to be entrenched” as Maurkice Pouncey’s primary backup.
Wallace made five spot starts filling in for Pouncey last year and graded out positively in run blocking. He only needs to hold off David Snow to keep the No. 2 center job. A career journeyman, 29-year-old Wallace re-signed to a three-year, $3.48 million deal with the Steelers this offseason.
  • FA Center #72
    Steelers re-signed C/G Cody Wallace to a three-year contract.
Wallace, 29, is a functional interior reserve whose primary position is center, but he can also play guard. Wallace did hold his own in five spot starts late last season. Maurkice Pouncey will return as Pittsburgh’s starting center.
  • FA Center #72
    49ers signed fourth-round C Cody Wallace to a multi-year contract.
Wallace, who went to Texas A&M, is unlikely to play much as a rookie. But he is a candidate to replace contract-year starter Eric Heitmann in 2009.
  • FA Center #72
Jets signed C Cody Wallace to their practice squad.
He replaces G Chad Rinehart, giving the Jets someone capable of playing both center and guard. (Just not at a high level.)
  • FA Center #72
49ers waived C Cody Wallace and DL Khalif Mitchell.
It’s expected that Mitchell will get a look for the practice squad. Wallace was the 107th overall pick in 2008, but may not even get claimed off waivers after practicing so poorly in San Francisco. Wallace was never even in the mix to replace Eric Heitmann when Heitmann fractured his leg in camp.
  • FA Center #72
Lions signed C Cody Wallace off the Jets’ practice squad.
Wallace, a fourth-round pick by San Francisco in the 2008 draft, will back up veteran Dominic Raiola in Detroit. He played collegiately at Texas A&M.
