Saints placed Cody Parkey (groin) on injured reserve.
Parkey hurt his groin in pregame warmups before the Saints’ Week 5 win against Washington. He played through the injury and missed two of his five extra point attempts in his only game with New Orleans. The team hopes to get Wil Lutz (groin) back from IR after their Week 6 bye. Lutz wouldn’t be a priority add in fantasy leagues. The Saints have attempted four field goals in five games.

    Saints signed K Cody Parkey.
Parkey will immediately take the place of Aldrick Rosas, who was released after missing three field goals in New Orleans’ last two games (including a 58-yard try in Week 4). Starting K Wil Lutz remains on injured reserve for an indefinite period of time following core muscle injury in August.

Browns placed K Cody Parkey (quad) on injured reserve.
He will be released with an injury settlement. Parkey was in the midst of a camp battle with Chase McLaughlin before suffering the injury. Cleveland re-signed him in the offseason after he went 19-of-22 on field goals and 43-of-47 on extra points last year. With Parkey out of the picture, McLaughlin will start for the Browns to open the year.

    Browns re-signed K Cody Parkey to a one-year contract.
Parkey gets another year with the Browns after making 19 of his 22 field goal tries and 43 of 47 extra point attempts in 2020. He was hardly usable in fantasy leagues, finishing the season as the 23rd highest scoring kicker. Cleveland had the fourth fewest field goal tries in 2020. Unless that changes, Parkey will remain waiver wire fodder in 2021.

Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said he has “a ton of confidence” in kicker Cody Parkey.
Parkey has been on the erratic side of late, most recently missing an extra point in the Browns’ Week 16 loss to the Jets. Parkey, who has made 40 of 44 extra points and 18 of 21 field goal tries this season, will be the team’s kicker in Week 17 against Pittsburgh. He’s not a recommended option for the underdog Browns. The Steelers have allowed the fifth fewest field goal attempts in 2020.

  • FA Kicker (FG) #6
Browns promoted K Cody Parkey from the practice squad.
The team waived K Austin Seibert in a corresponding move. Seibert missed two kicks on Sunday — a PAT and a 40-yard FG — and wasn’t given a leash beyond that. Parkey will make his debut for the Browns on Thursday against the Bengals.

    Titans released K Cody Parkey.
Ryan Succop is back from the injured reserve and will begin kicking on Sunday. Parkey made all three of his field goals and went 5-for-6 on extra points in his two weeks with Tennessee. It may be too late in the season for Parkey to get another gig in 2019, but he’ll likely be in the mix for a starting job this offseason.

    Titans signed K Cody Parkey.
Parkey was last seen tearing the heart out of every Bears fan in last season’s NFC Wild Card loss against the Eagles. Parkey made just 76.7% of his field goals and 93.3% of extra points in the 2018 regular season. The Titans released Cairo Santos Monday after he missed four field goals in their Week 5 loss to the Bills.

Free agent Cody Parkey will work out for the Jets.
The Jets are in the market for a kicker after Chandler Catanzaro’s retirement. Taylor Bertolet has struggled in place of Catanzaro and looks unlikely to go into the year with the job. Free agent Younghoe Koo has also been linked to the Jets.
  • FA Kicker (FG) #6
    Bears released Cody Parkey.
Parkey struggled with field goals all year, going just 26-of-34 and famously hitting four uprights in a game. He also missed a 43-yarder that knocked Chicago out of the Wild Card round. Signed to a four-year deal last March, releasing Parkey saves $1.1 million and leaves $5.2 million in dead money. Despite the down year, some team will be willing to give Parkey another look this offseason.
