Redskins agreed to terms with OLB Chris Wilson.
The special teamer and backup pass rusher spent four seasons with the Redskins from 2007-2010 before joining the Eagles last season. Turning 29 in July, Wilson will vie for a roster spot in training camp.
  • TEN Linebacker #98
Redskins placed OLB Brian Orakpo (pectoral) on injured reserve, ending his season.
Orakpo was not designated for return, which means the Redskins will be without their best pass rusher for the final 14 games. It’s the second time Orakpo has torn his pectoral muscle in the past nine months. He will enter a contract season in 2013. Rob Jackson and Chris Wilson will vie for playing time as Orakpo’s replacements.
  • PHI Defensive Lineman
Redskins DE Philip Daniels (foot sprain) was downgraded to doubtful for Monday night’s game after missing practice Saturday.
Pierson Prioleau (hamstring) was upgraded to questionable and Vernon Fox (groin) is called doubtful. Demetric Evans and undrafted rookie Chris Wilson will play in place of Daniels, which doesn’t bode well for the ‘Skins’ pass rush.
  • PHI Defensive Lineman
Redskins DE Phillip Daniels (arm) is not expected to play in Week 6.
Demetric Evans should start in his place, with rookie Chris Wilson subbing in on passing downs. Daniels hasn’t been productive in the first five weeks.
  • FA Linebacker #51
The Redskins have moved Chris Wilson from defensive end to linebacker.
Wilson, who was undersized for an end, had four sacks as a rookie but just one last season. He’ll likely back up rookie Brian Orakpo on the strong side.
  • PHI Defensive Lineman
Redskins DE Phillip Daniels will miss the 2008 season after injuring his knee on the first day of training camp Sunday.
Daniels, 35, is a leader and potent against the run, so his loss will be felt. But the Redskins’ pass rush could ultimately benefit. Chris Wilson, who had four sacks in very limited duty last year (Daniels had just three as a full time starter) will play more along with Demetric Evans. The extent of Daniels’ injury is unknown, but we assume he’ll need surgery. It may end his career.
  • FA Linebacker #51
Redskins re-signed restricted free agent OLB Chris Wilson to a one-year, $1.684 million contract.
Wilson is an athletic pass rusher better suited for the team’s new 3-4 scheme. He’s set to back up Brian Orakpo and Andre Carter in 2010.
  • FA Linebacker #51
The Redskins have assigned a second-round tender to restricted free agent DE/OLB Chris Wilson.
The Skins were somewhat forced to go high on Wilson’s tender because he was originally undrafted, but he should also have a chance at a big role in the team’s new 3-4 scheme. Wilson is athletic and can get to the quarterback.
  • FA Linebacker #51
Eagles agreed to terms with OLB Chris Wilson, formerly of the Redskins.
A defensive end/outside linebacker hybrid pass rusher type, the 29-year-old Wilson has six sacks through four seasons and racked up seven special teams tackles last year. He’ll try to win a roster spot at strong-side linebacker.
  • FA Linebacker #51
Redskins extended a second-round restricted free agent tender to OLB Chris Wilson.
Wilson drew the same tender last offseason, but he could be headed toward unrestricted free agency as a four-year vet this time around. The athletic linebacker has been a key reserve and special teamer for the Redskins the past few seasons.
