Third-stringer Chris Morris will start in his place. Charlie Frye could be in for a long afternoon.

Beats injured reserve. Gallery had a plate inserted into the leg and will be replaced by C Chris Morris indefinitely. Samson Satele is a starter again.

He beat out offseason trade acquisition Samson Satele. Morris, a 2006 seventh-round pick, has better size and adequate athleticism for Oakland’s zone-blocking scheme. Satele was getting overpowered too often in practice.

Morris, a seventh-round pick in 2006 out of Michigan State, was a 10-game starter at center in 2009. His role this year is uncertain after Morris lost the job down last season’s stretch, though he did start Oakland’s Week 17 loss.

Morris started the first nine games of 2009, but lost his starting job after the halfway point. He’d be easy to pry away as a former seventh-round pick.

The Raiders will have all their draft picks in camp on time. Morris may have to show he can play guard to stick around.

Morris, 26, picked up one start last season. A former seventh-round pick out of Michigan State, he will battle to make the club as an interior backup.

The Panthers still have concerns about their interior O-Line depth. Morris started 10 games for the Raiders at guard and center last season.

Morris entered last season as the Raiders’ starting center. He’s no longer needed with rookie Jared Veldheer taking over. Waters was a camp leg used to keep Sebastian Janikowski and Shane Lechler fresh.

The move comes after the Titans lost Eugene Amano for the year with a torn triceps. Morris has made 51 career appearances, including 11 starts, but just four since 2009. He was out of the league last season. It will be a bad sign for the Titans if Morris ends up pushing Fernando Velasco for playing time.
