McAlister is the franchise player holdout with the best chance for a contract extension, but time is running out. Incidentally, McAlister says he’d welcome Deion Sanders to the secondary and would sell his No. 21 jersey to him for the right price.

McAlister will sign his one-year tender as the team’s franchise player. The Ravens will continue to try to reach a long-term agreement him.

Bad news for Keyshawn Johnson owners out there.

Ouch. The Cowboys passing game has a fighting chance against a thined-out Ravens secondary.

He left Sunday’s game in the second quarter. The team believes it’s only a neck stinger.

The team’s best cornerback was limited in his return from a shoulder injury last weekend.

Bad news for David Givens and David Patten owners.

The Ravens have the cash to keep McAlister and they will, one way or the other. He is reportedly looking for a signing bonus in the area of $16-$19 million.

McAlister is “holding out” of summer activities because of his contract dispute, but will sign the one-year franchise offer before training camp. At this point, McAlister looks unlikely to get a deal.

“We believe Chris McAlister is the best cornerback in the National Football League; we concede that,” coach Brian Billick said recently. “The question becomes, what do you pay the best cornerback in the NFL? That is what the negotiations are about now.”
