The Jaguars interviewed Ravens defensive pass game coordinator Chris Hewitt for their defensive coordinator vacancy.
Hewett played three seasons of football for the Saints in the late 90s. He joined the Ravens in 2012, first serving as an assistant coach on special teams. Hewett worked his way up the ladder on the defensive side of the ball and was most recently promoted to defensive pass game coordinator and secondary coach in 2022. With the Ravens’ defense ranking at or near the top of the league in every pass-defense metric this season, it’s no surprise to see other teams come looking for his services. The Jags fired defensive coordinator Mike Caldwell at the end of their season.
